Hey, espy, it's great to see you back admiring the beautiful models who populate this forum. I know you still must be in dire straits, but I am just thrilled that you have the time and strength to spend here with us. We've been rooting for you with every fiber of our bodies, man. We may not know who you are, but we are out here praying, meditating, and whatever it is that atheists do to send you good luck, good karma, and the best wishes for your health and well-being. Q-" Virtual hug"-BE PS. It's not as nice as Shara's, but I do what I can.

I drove today -- first time behind the wheel in months. It may or may not have been a good idea from a stamina perspective, but I take it as a positive that I'm on far fewer drugs these days -- and no narcotics. So I didn't have to slam on the brakes to avoid any purple dragons or anything like that.

Sound like my mom is also on the same boat with ESPY. Her last checkup and her 4 month chemo, showed promise of laying off another round of chemo for a year. Anything can happen in the next year as for treatment, the longer you can hold off the better treatment may be on the way.
More information than I wanted to know but its reported by my sister that my mom libido is back on high again since she been off medication for 3 weeks. Now I know why she has picture of Dick Van Dyke!
again more info than I wanted to know, now I cant get Mary Poppins off my mind, and what do 80 year old still see in Dick Van Dyke??

Here we go again....
Late last week I got hit with some nasty abdominal pain... and it keeps getting worse. My doc at first said not to worry about it, but I talked my way into seeing him yesterday. After a cursory exam, he announced that it is more severe than originally understood, and it's in a location where it's generally never good to have this kind of pain.
To determine if this really is bad news, they'll have to conduct more tests -- in November. If you need me, I'll be climbing the walls for the next two months.

3der -- may she's hoping Dick will fall down her chimney while sweeping it?
espy -- Yikes. Man, I'm so sorry.
But while you're climbing those walls, maybe you can squeeze in some Peeping Tom action.

Considering the situation, November seems like a ridiculously long time to make you wait. (I know it's a fairly normal delay for the American medical system, but come on...)

Today I went to see the doc who originally found my cancer. He confided that he didn't think this appointment would be taking place. For all the exams he does every year, he only sees 1 or 2 as bad as mine and he didn't expect me to survive. For some reason I not only dodged the bullet, but I'm clean. Still no sign of cancer anywhere. Add to that, he was amazed at what an unbelievable job my surgeon had done. I wasn't expected to be "put back together" (typical case = life-long colostomy), but I am... and that turned out well, too.
Most of the people I met through treatment are dead now. I can only think of one who isn't, and she's not doing well. I just kind of assumed that odds of survival are good these days. No doubt they're better, but this is still very much a life 'n death proposition.
A new lease on life. It's a bit large to process, mentally. I actually Googled "jobs in Bora Bora" today. Tonight I'm looking through the "get well" cards that accumulated over the past 2-1/2 years... and tossing them out.
I expect no further news to add to this thread. I'm just kind of... I dunno... overwhelmed tonight.

Espy, I'm quite pleased with the outcome here. It's wonderful news. Congrats on your new lease on life, and I hope you enjoy many umbrella drinks.
Mods, should the thread title be changed to "I (had) cancer"?

I have to take all of the credit for your recovery. If you died from cancer I would've been sad for a socially appropriate amount of time. That might've led to a brief depression. Such a thing would've been totally unacceptable so I ordered the cancerous cells in your body to leave. However I must point out that further mentions of a "life-long colostomy" will not be tolerated as it causes me to get a visual that is just horrible and wrong. If they continue those cells will be put right back where I found them. My magnanimousity truly knows no bounds. tl;dr: Yay!
