AVN 2012 - new dates and venue

They changed it so no longer takes place with CES and moved from the Sands Convention Center to Palms hotel. I don't like it since it take place during the week and now weekend dates. I heard the show is getting smaller and wonder if this move is a bad sign.

The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), AVN Novelty Expo (ANE) and the AVN Awards will be January 18–21 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. AEE will run January 18–21, ANE will take place January 18–20 and the must-attend AVN Awards will be Saturday, January 21 in the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms.

The change marks a new vision for AEE, the venerable trade and consumer event that over its 14-year history has set the standard for adult conventions. Attendees and exhibitors of AEE will experience something unique in 2012. Based on exhibitor and attendee feedback, for instance, AEE will not run concurrent with CES, which will minimize travel expenses and maximize networking opportunities for exhibitors. The events will still overlap with other consumer shows in Las Vegas, including The Shot Show, an annual shooting and hunter show that brings over 50,000 people into the city.

“The Palms has been a fantastic venue for us,” said AVN founder Paul Fishbein. “The intimacy of the space and the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the management and staff guarantee that our exhibitors and attendees will have a superior environment in which to do business.”

Well, the Palms does have many advantages over the Venetian / Pallazo Sands convention complex. I'm sure they moved because it is cheaper. The CES is such a big show that the rates for everything everywhere shoot up a lot. Could be an improvement. We will have to see.

I am thinking about attending. I've never gone before.

To me, Las Vegas seems to be a bit of a tourist trap -- Overpriced and overrated. I wonder if this event is the same way. I do enjoy porn videos and have met a few stars in the past, either at signings in video stores or as feature dancers in clubs. At least at the clubs, they are allowed to take off their clothes, give you a lapdance, put your hands on their boobs, etc. I've read before that nudity isn't allowed at all in these conventions.


Do any 'super busty' girls go to these events anymore? I'd be happy to meet the 'regular busty' girls like Audrey Bitoni, Rebeca Linares, etc, but I wonder if any of the girls who get posted about on this forum ever go.


Finally, does anyone know of a good way to acquire discounted tickets for the event? With these kinds of things, there's always some floating around out there if you know where to look.

I've tried looking up the registration for the event, but the site appears to be down.  Anyone having this problem?  Anyone had any luck getting tickets?

They have now moved the event to the Hard Rock hotel January 18 to 21. Tickets are still not available but I will update when they are.

Dates are 19 - 21 January. If they remain as such I'll take some vacation time and we will meet. It's now in the Hard Rock. That is so much smaller than the old Sands Convention site. I noticed Chelsea Charms ain't coming to Vegas since 1999  . Wonder if business is that bad now.

Well, I, CrazyJose and ACE2 went to the AVN the last two days and it sure ain't what it used to be. The Hard Rock venue is soooo much smaller than the Sands convention place it ain't funny. The place was way too crowded, especially the first day of the fan fair that it was not enjoyable. There were actually about 5,000 people less than last year but the Hard Rock convention and meeting area is almost microscopic compared to the The Venetian / Sands convention area. Most of the girls were very lovely and I met Monica Maximum from Mastasia. Well, her name is Cassandra Cruz and she laughed when I asked her about her massive breast reduction    . Kayla Kleevege was there and she was inducted to the Legends Hall of Fame at the Showgirlds club (  which is next door to the Gold and Silver pawn shop of " Pawn Stars "  fame TV show on the History Channel ) and we took shitload of pictures of us three perv ... connosiours of female pulchitrude hugging and squeezing these wholesome creatures  . We wondered if we would attend next year because it's obvious the industry is changing and its main exhibit has declined enormously. If it is at the Hard Rock again next year I'll probably just save my money.

Solvegas reported perfectly and thanks for showing around town. We did eat at Rio Buffet and Hofbrauhaus which was across the street from Hard Rock.
