My health is, so far as I can tell, fine. Except for being old, fat, and ugly.

But in a different thread I was reading some remarks regarding the appendix, which has long been considered a useless organ. I have recently found a couple of articles suggesting that the appendix acts as a sort of greenhouse for the wonderful flora and fauna that inhabit our guts. I parted company with my appendix in 1998 and was disconcerted to discover that I had developed lactose "intolerance" the next year.

Herbivores tend to have large appendixes. Omnivores like us can survive without it but, as you just mentioned, there really is no useless organ. I've got all mine still even though as I get older my chances of keeping them all go lower. I'm already fat and ugly but I'm not quite 55 yet. Am I considered old or not ?  Huh Wink Grin

That can create real problems.

He said intolerant, not acutely allergic. Wink
