Not that I imagine there are hordes of people clamoring 'walla walla walla' due to my recent absence from MSN Messenger, but I figured I ought to mention here that I've been unable to log on to it for a week or so... since most of the folks I chat with there are from here. Haven't had a chance to troubleshoot the issue... just didn't want any chat pals to think I've forgotten about them, that's all.  I'll get to it just as soon as real life gives me a breather.
Our local alternate, the BEA Chat, seems down for the count participation-wise.

hey pal, if you cannot log into MSN messenger but you can log into say hotmail or anything that requires your MSN email or password (my MSN messenger log info is also how I sign into Xbox Live) try using a third party chat client like meebo. I can access my MSN, AOL, and Yahoo accounts from that site on ANY PC that has a net connection (I also have a meebo app on my android phone so I can 'IM' from my phone). or you could try unistalling MSN messenger and get the latest version here: http://explore.live.com/messengergood luck PS: you guys can feel free to add me to your contact lists if you ever want to IM with me (my account names are in profile). Agent "hope to chat with ya soon" Dee  Pal replies: thanks AD, but I'm not using Messenger... I'm using Emesene, a popular chat client for Linux. I've got it on two machines and it's always worked fine in all respects. But now, neither will log on... it just sits (no error message) so perhaps something's happened to my account... I don't know. Due to a very busy few weeks in RL, I can't work on it now, and wouldn't have much time for chat anyway. Soon though!  |

Removing and reinstalling Emesene (my preferred chat client) didn't help and Empathy sort of sucks (the chat client that comes as part of Ubuntu Linux by default; it didn't seem to connect either though I gave up on it quick ). Luckily, another client called Pidgin (which pretty much looks and runs like Emesene) seems to connect and work fine, so I'm back in business.
