Title: Artist Logos Database Feedback
Post by: BE4me on May 14, 2007, 10:29:15 AM
Work has begun on the
Artist Logos Database.

If you don't have a clue what I am a talking about here,
check out The Artist Logos Database (http://forum.bearchive.com/index.php/topic,566289.0.html) Thread in the Palette Forum.

No Forum members may post in that thread,
so this feedback thread was created.

Here are three excerpts from the Database documentation

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

DATABASE

This database is essentially a collection of image posts,
one post per artist per section.
The three sections are:

Breast Morphs. Photograph Breast Expansion.
3D Renders. Large Breast; or, Breast Morphs of 3D Renders.
Drawings. Large Breast; or, Breast Morphs of Drawings; or,
Colorizations of Large Breast Drawings.

The database is for images with logos only.
Those without logos are beyond the scope of this project.
Perhaps the scope might be expanded at some point in the future,
after the initial building of this database is complete.

FEEDBACK

Since This thread is a Reference Work,
it is necessary to restrict this thread and not allow users to post here.
That issue is solved by using the Artist Logos Database Feedback Thread.

I will use the thread to keep you posted on the
progress here with the building of this database.

You can use the thread to post questions and comments,
or tell me about mistakes made here.

Since the number of artists that should be listed here is a larger
(probably much larger) number than the number currently listed,
you can use the Feedback thread to "apply for admission".
Just post in the Feedback thread,
identifying the artist name,
and attach an image that clearly shows the logo of the artist.
(The artist must have a logo to be included here)
If the artist has multiple logos,
you can either post a collage,
or post one image each day.
I prefer Softcore over Hardcore,
but I do not insist upon it.

A note about Artist Name.
The Artist Name is not necessarily the same thing
as the Artist ID or the Artist Gallery Name.
(ie, Foonman's posts under the ID of Foon4Balloons,
St. Stephan's Gallery Name is The Megamammammmonastery)

Warning, Rant to follow:
If you are too lazy to post an image, then I am too lazy to post an update.

You would think that the Feedback thread would the perfect place
to post links that I need to add to each Section's Links post.
However, there is a problem.
Mentioning some links in the forum can sometimes get you into trouble,
one link in particular.
So if you have an ON-Topic link that you would like to share,
send it to me by Private Message,
and if it is a "safe" link,
I will include it with the other links.
I am especially interested in groups,
Yahoo and other groups.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Database thread,
I have posted the Database Documentation,
and have begun the Breast Morph Section,
of which I will complete the inititial image loading,
before beginning work on the other two sections.

Loading does take time,
so I am not yet sure how long this first part will take,
but it will not be hours,
probably not days,
but rather weeks.
So be patient.

OK, somthing important I forgot to mention.

The Database thread has been certified 1-1-1-1 exempt.

Posting one a day simply wasn't feasible.
It would take 2-3 years to build.
My patience would run out long before then, yours too.
By posting as many a day as I have time, it will still
take a few months to complete.

Those of you who have been notifying the mods about the
Database thread can stop, they already know, and approve.

BE4me,

Your database is missing a reference to our deceased friend R2D2, who morphed here during the early years of the BEA (and is not to be confused with the entirely different person currently known as R2D2). I can't recall how R2 signed his morphs.

Can one of our archivists please provide an R2D2 morph for the database?

Vitamin C, who may already be in your Drawing and 3D lists, was also a morpher in the BEA's early years. VC signed some of his morphs with his name, but I think he also used pictorial logos sometimes.  VC eventually stopped morphing to focus on drawing, painting, and 3D work.  Here's one of his morphs:

And there's also me.  I've been morphing at the BEA on and off since the BEA's early days, and I'm not in the database, either.  Perhaps you've mistaken some of my morphs for Pacman's, since our logos have been similar at times.  That would be flattering for me, but might really depress Pac.

Here are a pair of morphs that respectively show my older and newer logos.

(Note to everybody: these images are internal links to art that already existed on the BEA servers.  You can post up to five internal links per day in each thread without violating the 1-1-1 rule.)

I have 5 still images and 2 animated from R2D2 and I regret to inform you that he did NOT sign his work.

As for the logo on my colorings/alterations, I have two versions and it's been difficult to choose a sample drawing for each.  I decided for my old logo a "before and after montage" of one of the Frank Cho drawings I did in 2003. That way the sample illustrates the full range of what I do to the  original drawing. Not only color it, but alter it (nudify) by using drawing tools, photo cut & paste and filtering to enhance the realism of the finished product.

Correction: I rarely used filters before 2006, so the first example doesn't have any.

Then when it's all done, a nice collage of logos might be useful as a handy reference card?

Yes, that's perfect. Keep 'em coming. This thread is the perfect place
to post images for all those logos I don't have yet.

Like I have said, I am building this thing almost entirely out of stuff
from my personal collecion, and just like each of your collecions,
my is far from complete.

Here is the game plan. I am going to continue posting Breast Morph images
from the initial set (several more days yet). Then, after a week or so to
prep, post all the 3D render images. Then repeat that for the drawings.
Then collapse and go into a **97** for awhile. And when I recover, start
putting together the first major update to the Database, made up mostly
of what will have been posted here. Anyway, that translates into
a couple of months, or longer until I can get to these updates.
So don't feel slighted when your posts here don't lead to an immediate
change to the Database.

Also, like you guys, I am a member, not a moderator. Which means
I cannot go back and edit anything more that 24 hours old. Which
means any changes I require must go through the moderators. And I
will not abuse their kindness by throwing changes at them every day.

If you are an overlooked artist, post here.
If you know of an overlooked artist, post here.
As a matter of fact, I am going to post here with update images too,
just so I won't forget or lose them.

I already know I need to update the first documentation post to briefly
tell people how best use the database for particular uses, such as
"How do I find the image post for Pacman?" Sorry Gonzo. Or,
"Who's logo is a Mad Guy in a Hatter Hat, or was that
a Guy in a Mad Hatter Hat?" I know, but I am not telling. Or,
"I don't want to read anything, I just want to look at girls with big tits".
I suppose you still only read books with lots of pictures. (Sarcastic enough?)

Finally, I completed Breasts Morphs through letter J, averaging about 25 a day.
Should be through the Breast Morphs early next week. Thanks.

Post by: Zorro on May 17, 2007, 05:48:31 AM
When I started out on here, even before I had galleries I created logos for myself and was going to change them every year with a different "Zorro" image.

Well......since those early days many of the logos I created are now gone, but many of the morphs remain.

This collage has the various different logos I used plus those I had the foresight to keep in folders.

I hope I am uploading this in the correct thread and if I get a chance I'll see if I can locate any other logos I used.

I have 2, but one is incredibly short lived so just go with the STM-letters for me

Shara and Zorro,

Nice to hear from both of you.
I should have the image posts done for
both of you by the end of the weekend.

Shara, your sample is definitely STM, didn't know of any other.
Early short lived logos are cool too (see below, re: Arc Tangent)

Zorro, yours has 6 differnt Zorro logos (in three collage posts).
I have no idea if that covers them all, so if I missed any,
and you can find some samples, post them here.

I think I previous stated that it was
one image per artist per section.
Not quite right. More acurately it is
one image per logo per artist per section
where mulitple images are collaged, where possible,
remaining under the 150K upload limit.
(That should explain Zorro's: 6 images leading to 3 image posts)

Arc Tangent tells me that before he was Arc Tangent he used "ü" as his logo.
Here is the sample I am going to use when I later do the first major update.

I realise the difference may be subtle for most folks, but here's the new, refined version of my logo (first used on Mar 28, 2006). I promise not to change it again for the foreseeable future.

This wallpaper version (1024x768) was uploaded to the User Gallery last year. Once again, I chose this one as a good example of what I do with original art (as drawn by Fred Perry this time).

I occasionally add text next to my logo like "Color by TheHerald", but I do it sporadically and inconsistently. The size of my logo has slowly shrunk over the years and it's location on the drawing has varied, but I'm otherwise very consistent in it's appearance.

and I am guessing that is Christina Model.

Finished the initial loading of the Breast Morph images.

Final count
184 Breast Morph Artists
199 Posts

The first part (from my collection) were all loaded in alpha order.
The last few (from additional souces) were not.
And this is how it is going to be for future Breast Morph images.

Those of you who read the documentation have already figured out
that the only true alpha order in the Database exists in the Image Index list.
Those of you who have been avoiding reading the documentation,
will find it harder and harder to navigate through the Database.
I suggest you read it.

And as to why some of it seem so technical.
It is necessary.
Attempting to simulate a multi-dimensional database,
using a flat forum thread requires a technical explanation.

I reworked the Image Index explanation to make is clearer.
And I added a "Quick Help" to the first post,
to help with specific uses for the Database, such as:

"How do I find the Image Post for Magic?"
"Who's Logo is 'E'?"
"Where did you collect all these images from?" (Links)

----------------------------------------------------------

Am beginning to work on the 3D Renders.
Don't know how long,
don't know how many,
don't know when posting begins.

But it will be one larger than originally thought,
because Prinz Eugen now signs his work. Thanks.

----------------------------------------------------------

Thank you very much to those few who have helped, or offered to help,
with assistance, time, and research.
You have made this project more enjoyable.
And your suggestions have been well received, and some implemented.

For those suggestions offered by those who did not offer to help,
I have ignored almost every one of them.

Thank you for the many Private Messages.
I appreciate all of them (even the ones that piss me off).
I really want to receive some Private Messages that have some links in them.
So I can add them to that miserably small list in the documentation.

For those of you who read the documentation,
but still did not understand,
and have asked questions,
I have given freely of my time to answer.

For those who had questions,
but did not read it,
or could not be bothered to read it,
then I couldn't be bothered to help,
and will continue to do so.

Thanks.
Later.

I don't have a very larhe body of work, but here's one for the database. Logo's just an abbreviation of my username. Was half thinking of just using a big 'X' (like an illiterate's signature), but figured is should be a bit more identifiable.

Added a Quick Help section
to the very first post in the Database.
This covers all the questions I have been asked.

Here is a copy of it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

QUICK HELP

1. "What is this Database about?"

Palomine had a great idea.
Set up a collection of images,
that show the logos of the morph artists.
We expanded that to include 3D Renders and Drawings.
The Artist Logos Database is the result.

2. "What do you mean 'Database', this is just a thread, isn' it?"

Ok, you got me.
It is a simulation.
We are using a flat one-dimension forum thread,
to simulate a multi-dimentional database.
And to do that requires some very careful structuring,
and a very technical explanation in the documentation.

3. "If it is not a regular thread, how should I think of it?"

Think of it as a Book.
Each post is a page or section from that Book.
The first post is the cover of that Book.
The second post has a Table of Contents,
and every post is structured around that Table of Contents.

4. "Shouldn't this be in a gallery, instead of a thread?"

Absolutely.
We expect, that at some future date,
this will be moved to a gallery here at the BEA,
hopefully a free gallery.

5. "I don't want to use this as a Database, I just want to see the pictures."

Every post is either a Documentation Post (long and wordy),
or an Image Post (short and terse).
Every Image Post has an picture attachment (some pictures are collages).
Enjoy.

6. "Where did you find all these Artists?"

Each section of this Database has a Links Section.
Look at the "Table Of Contents" (first part of next post).
Notice the Links section as the last part of the Breast Morphs Documentation
(Breast Morphs Documentation begins with Post #3).

7. "How do I find the Image Post for someone, say Magic?"

Go to the Image Index in the Breast Morphs Documentation
(Breast Morphs Documentation begins with Post #3).
Image Index is in alpha order.
Look up Magic in the Index.
You find: "BM0079 C Magic, Name".
The 0079 is the Image Post Number.
Image Posts are in numerical order.
Just surf downward until you find "Image Number: BM0079"

8. "What about morph artists whose logo is not their name, say an 'E' ?"

Go to the Logo Cross-Reference in the Breast Morphs Documentation
(Breast Morphs Documentation begins with Post #3).
Read down that list until you find: "E = The Engineer".

9. "Is everybody in the Database in alpha order?"

No. That is not possible.
Every new posting goes on the end of the thread, or a sub-thread.
Only The Image Index, a part of each section's documentation,
is maintained in alpha order.
See Quick Help #7 for more information.

10. "If I cannot post here, where can I?"

Here.  Artist Logos Database Feedback  Thread.

Title: Re: Artist Logos Database Feedback
Post by: PoserLover on May 31, 2007, 01:42:16 AM
For what it's worth, I do sign some of my (newer, obviously) work. It's simply the text "PoserLover" somewhere near the bottom. If I ever have some kind of inspirational epiphany regarding a more interesting logo and I can actually produce the result, I'll use that instead. Don't hold your breath.

I should note, however, in some of my images I just can't find a place to put a signature that doesn't destroy the fantasy aspect of the render (in my eyes, anyway), so there will instances where no sig or logo will be visible. If I get paranoid, I might watermark the image or something.

I recently revisited the "fireside chat" scene from a couple of years ago, updating the skin texture on the models. I signed it and posted it, and now wish I hadn't signed it for the very reason mentioned above. At the very least I should have used a more subtle signature on that one.

See what I mean here: http://membersarea.bearchive.com/galleries/big/7678fc275946fddf9abfa5f81cef5ff1.jpg

After a quick scan of this thread (very quick), I may be the first here to say, "Thank You, BE4me!" (for the database work).

Although I have an extensive collection of BEA artists work (yet to be counted), I could never have organized and posted at the level you are producing.

When RL permits, I plan on comparing what you have posted to my collection to see if there are any more I can submit. I'm not expecting to find many, but most date back to the early years of the BEA (I don't collect morphs as much as I use to).

Thank you The Herald,
nice to be appreciated.
Guess maybe I'll include you in the Database after all.

And thanks for looking through your collection,
to see what you have, that I don't.

And to anybody else that wouldn't mind checking out your own collections,
in search of "the missing logo", thanks in advance.

Finished posting the Drawings Section.
Not quite as many post as the Morphs, or the Renders.

I also did an update for all those who posted in this thread,
plus some others from other sources.

New images added for:

Breast Morphs
Gonzo, JDavie, Slacker, Tron, Vitamin "C", and Zoidberg

3D Renders
Pacman and PoserLover

Drawings
CLLucifer

2nd logos images added for

Angelusx, Arc Tangent, Shara, and Zulluh

Apologies to these four artists.
Using a thread for this database means that
the 1st image post and the 2nd image post
are separated by about 300-400 posts.
This will be straightened out when this
database is relocated into a gallery.

I am going to take a little time off from this for a while.
Now that the initial database build is complete,
it would be nice if each of you would check your personal
collections (and whatever other sources you have),
to find others that should be added,
and then post them here.
Then when I return, there should be some work for me to do.

I just noticed one side effect of doing this.
I am now an "F" Cup. I think I was a "C" Cup when whis started.

Thanks.

OMG!, you are right!

I relooked at the images I had in a folder labeled "R2D2" and saw that logo on two of them (another one I just noticed is actually by the artist with the butterfly logo).

While I'm justly embarrassed, I will say in my defense that the logos are all very small and/or somewhat camouflaged.
Title: Re: Artist Logos Database Feedback

TheHerald.

If the butterfly is a blue butterfly,
it is probable Dr. Morpho
(See the sample in the Database).

Also why don't you pick one of those R2D2 (with logo) images,
and post it here.

And as Trax tells me, he does now sign his renders.
My Bad, I missed it. Here it one of them.

Title: Re: Artist Logos Database Feedback
Post by: TheHerald on July 07, 2007, 01:31:21 AM
The butterfly is black and white because the video clip (animated gif) is that way, but I'm sure it's Dr.Morpho as you say.

traX posted a montage of 4 images by R2D2, so I didn't initially feel I should add another, but since you ask..

BTW, the logo is just above the gas tank and just below her ..um, ..ah, what was I talking about?

Also, since I'm posting right now, the artist you know by his logo as "Kwok" is actually known here (and his website) as Ghost Yurei. I have no idea why he signs his work as "Kwok", but Ghost Yurei is the better known name.

And you are right, I thought Kwok was the artist name.

So I will try to post many of them here.
I was 1-1-1-1 exempt with building the Database,

That's what I said, too!

Really!, ..this series of renderings by "Artists Without Logos" have, in general, been wonderful to see. Thanks for doing this, BE4me!

..and don't worry about the need to take time off occasionally. We understand all too well.

There have been many fine renders that I could have expressed approval (and a few weird looking faces among them), but I have to say this latest especially impresses me. Love the pose and the way the skin looks (and the figure, of course).

..I also see that we are suddenly nearing the end of the alphabet for "artists with no logos". Guess I better start looking for other artists to add to the "logoed list".

The answer is: Superman
Tnekkralc spelled backward is Clark Kent
The "1956" could be anything, of course,
even a reference to the the original series,
The Adventures of Superman,
which ran on TV from 1952 to 1958.

I think Wolf359 is a cool name to have chosen.

You may have encountered that name before
for various hardware and software items,
but it is also a part of science and science fiction.

Science.

Named after its discoverer in the early 1900's,
Wolf 359 is our 3rd closest star,
(1st: Alpha Centauri, 2nd: Barnard's Star),
about 8 light-years away, in the constellation Leo.

Science Fiction. Many appearances, including

"Wolf 359" is the title of an original
Outer Limits episode, from 1964.

(My favorite)
Wolf 359 is the location of the epic battle
between Starfleet and the Borg,
in Star Trek, The Next Generation
episode "The Best of Both Worlds",
which is revisited in the pilot episode
of Star Trek, Deep Space Nine.

Perhaps stating the obvious, but ST writers chose Wolf359 BECAUSE it's close to Earth and the Federation was making a stand there before the Borg reached Earth. They knew many viewers would appreciate that real world reference.

Now that I am finished with all the "Logo: None" pics,
it is time to get back to additions and changes to the Database.

So if you have found some artists not yet included
in the Database, post them here.

I have come up with about 2 dozen in these last few months.
Here is one, a morph artist called Tron.

I found someone who might fit in to the database (Catagory-3D Rendering)

Artist Name: cujoe_da_man
Artist ID:
Artist Logo:
Gallery Website: http://www.renderosity.com

here's an example of a 3D BE: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1511400&member
and a breast transformation: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1551001&member

Most of the art, however, seems to be nude female aliens (Twi'leks) and Star Trek women with some good looking breasts.  All the art is females except for his/her early work.

I really don't know if this is the kind of stuff you're looking for, but I think it's BEA forum material.
I just recently found this art, so my knowledge is limited.

P.S.  Good luck working on this database...I really thing this is one of the best ideas ever.  I can only hope that the free artist gallery comes to pass, too.  But that is a whole 'nother can of worms.
Title: Re: Artist Logos Database Feedback

I like cujoe_da_man.
I have several of his in my personal collection,
including the two examples you provided.
Good stuff.

But he does not qualify for the database
because he has no logo, he does not sign his work.
Only those with logos go in the Logo Database.

If you will check back into the database,
to the 3D Render documentation,
you will see a long list of artists
who are left out because they have no logo.
cujoe_da_man, willdial, and many of the other
artists over at renderosity.com are included in that list.

And that is a shame,
because some of the best artists
are being left out of this database.

Personal rant:
Artists, please sign you work.
Take pride in your work,
and show that pride by signing it.

The good news is that many do sign their work
and we have many from renderosity.com included,
like Darkwing-Zero, GMan (Ghelmer), Willi Go.
Some of these artists also post over at
renderotica.com, be sure to check out that site too.

Here is another of cujoe_da_man that I like.

Will the artists without logos be on the future gallery?  I'm just wondering about the importance of logos, other than to i.d. who the artist is.  Will having an image in the proposed future gallery that has no logo violate some sort of rule of the BEA?
Title: Re: Artist Logos Database Feedback
Post by: TheHerald on December 02, 2007, 04:52:14 PM
It has nothing to do with breaking a BEA rule (or even any netiquette).

It IS all about identifying who has done a morph or artwork based on the logo they (hopefully) placed somewhere on their work. Without it, there is very little chance of knowing who did it because styles for this kind of work is hard to distinguish between artists.

I consider myself a good example for this because I expend great effort to make the alterations I do to drawings look like the original artist did it. Not because I want the original artist to take credit (or the blame, take your pick) for it. I do it to make the altered art appear as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as possible by making the whole image "consistent" (for lack of a better way of putting it). IOW, changes should not be detectable without the original for comparison.

Therefore, without a logo on the art I've altered (or the filename change I do), you should NOT be able to know I did it if I accomplished my objective. If someone likes what I do, I want them to know how to ID something I did. Conversely, I don't want to take credit if I didn't do it. Some artists create their OWN nude and clothed versions of their pinups. I applaud that!

Now, in the render example above, I see "Wenderfellow" mentioned (a name I recognise for this render style) for art done by another name "cujoe_da_man". Same person? I suspect it. A consistent name and logo would avoid confusion.

To BE4me:
I wish to apologize for my tardiness for finding any missing artists who have logos that may be in my personal collection. I haven't forgotten my promise and I still intend to do it.

Well said TheHerald.

Also, any project has to have a well defined scope.
The scope of this project is to include those with logos only.
Without a scope, the project is just an endless black hole.

Wenderfellow is definitely not cujoe_da_man.
Wenderfellow's work is better.

That image above was cujoe_da_man's
"Magazine Cover" project,
over at Renderosity.com.
similar to the "Magazine Cover"
contest currently going on
in the Morphs's request forum.

Wenderfellow posts at Renderosity.com
but primarily at Renderotica.com,
where he has organized, and runs,
the annual Big Boob Rally.

Here is an older one of his I like.

Original Database thread link doesn't work, I forgot about it until i saw this i rarely come to the feedback forum.  Huge undertaiking it is especially when artists like to change their logos I know I'm at least my 5th (I think i average 1 a year) although my switch hasn't always been because of I felt i should switch sometimes I'd forget what i named the file and couldn't find it.

Original Database thread link doesn't work, I forgot about it until i saw this i rarely come to the feedback forum.

Thanks for the information.
It appears that several of the old links
that connect the Database Thread to the Feedback Thread,
and vise versa, are now invalid.
I will get them fixed as soon as I can bribe a mod to help me.

Until then, The Artists Logos Database
can be found at the top of the Palette Forum.

Original Database thread link doesn't work.
Links between database and feedback threads are now working again.
Thanks Gonzo.

Thanks Pet for your fine contribution.

I've gone through a lot of Zorro Theme logos over the years. Several with pictures of Armando Cantalano (Guy Williams) then Antonio Banderas Zorro pictures.

Recently I had to redo my logo for all of the Busty Tina morphs I did so she could have them on her website at Southern Charms. Southern Charms rejected them because of the Antonio Banderas logo I made so I did a simple ugly one to cover it up.

Now I want to go with something simple and I am uploading a collage (in my latest weekly upload) of what I had used the last 2 or 3 years and samples of what I want to go with from now on.

Here is the one I used for my New Years Upload.
