Help!
« on: July 05, 2001, 09:16:00 AM »

Always make your subject a Beatles song title. The best advice I ever got . . . But I'm looking for more - advice, that is.

As a Brit who grew up on the numberless delights of Roberta Pedon, Mary Waters, Olga, Darlene English etc, I had to pick up any scraps from US publishers that chanced to make it to the News-stands of England. Does 'News-stands of England' sound like a Noel Coward song or what?

Anyhow, these days I kind-of rub along by writing about the above - with suitable illustrations. Problem is; retro magazines and videos from the mid 70's to early 80's are on the endagered species list over here.

So if anybody can point me towards a friendly second-hand bookstore in the LA or NYC areas, I'd be overwhelmed with gratitude and fellow-feeling.

Thanks.
