Any requests? he asked, discreetly tapping the brandy snifter next to the piano. The jazz band will return to the stage for the next set after a five-minute dope break. Suggestions? Challenges? Dares?

Okay, I should have been a little less vague. Does anyone have any episodes they'd particularly like me to take a stab at following up on? In particular, old threads you like that have gone neglected for too long? How about suggestions for me, ways for me to improve my writing? Anyone? Anyone? Maybe I'm overreacting, but with Dabbler on hiatus, I don't seem to be getting any good volleys going lately. Challenges? Dares? That is, point me in the direction of an episode that you think is hard to follow up, and I can always try to follow it up. I've GOT ideas of my own, but it seems like a slow couple of weeks. I was just angling for something to keep my interest.

Well, if you don't mind a big hunk of shameless self-promotion... (if ya do mind, ignore me) I'd love to see expansion in the general vicinities of: #136538 or #72512Yep, they're all in threads I heavily contributed to. But they're all threads that haven't seen action in some time, matches your request. The first two especially, they're in the Elvira threads (Jim's Family and Empress), both of which were starting to collapse under their own weight... Anyways, there ya go. I like the Sharon in Wonderland and Mystry plant threads. I read those first.

Yes the 122760 thread was a lot of fun, but I eventually ran out of inspiration for it. It would be good to see it reborn ("born" being an appropriate word for that thread).

I probably have about 100 threads that I'd like to see someone continue. A few particular favourites that come to mind are: Forgotten Futures Doll Sharon a prisoner of BlackCo Sharon trapped in the lake Jim and Edith Sharon the dolphin-maid

Damn, and I'd just come up with a great Melissa Joan Hart episode to follow up. Hopefully something to inspire some creativity. Check it out all the same, even if you don't follow it up. Raoul.

Since the most current topic is about threads Fitzgerald would like to see revived, I thought I'd revive this older topic, about the same thing. Anyone want to take a stab at these?

I'd love it if someone followed up 175082. I'm still trying to psych myself up to leave on the 15th (my second try) but would like to answer any behind the writing questions before then. Raoul.

Planning on leaving the BEAddV, Duke? I hope not, though I can understand why you might want to -- it's a huge time-stealer. In any event, I've given you your follow-up to 175082, so you'll have plenty of time to answer the BTW questions before the 15th. Just go there and click on the first option, and you're on your way. And to any who might object: sorry for taking all the options, but I did leave open continuations on all of them.

Are you SURE L.E. is going to depart? I've never known him to depart ANY place that (a) has an Addventure type program and (b) where he has the potential to be very, very, obnoxious. Anyway, I am still in protest over the fact that it's been SEVERAL MONTHS and MarkT STILL hasn't deleted that episode I wanted deleted...or answered my e-mails...or acknowledged my _existence_ for that matter....so, I probably won't get back to writing. I really shouldn't be here anymore either. I only stuck around for the D&D idea, but that seems to have bogged down. Anyway, thanks for the birthday wishes. Mello

Happy Birthday, Mello. If you're worried about the D&D game bogging down, why not roll up your stats? Then we could get going. I left instructions on the D&D thread.

Um, what was putting me off was that "Put these exact numbers and codes in the body of the message" thing. It sounded like I was e-mailing some totally impersonal company and their e-mail answering "robot" would only respond to certain things...(such as, "To subscribe to our mailing list, type SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message and nothing else when you reply...") I dunno. Turned me off, and was also a bit confusing. I was wondering why I couldn't just write you a letter with my stats in it that was written with _normal words_... And it ain't my birthday yet! Wait until the 15th. Mello

(Oh, it's going to be an enjoyable campaign, I can see it now. . . .) On the lighter side, anyone feel like adding to #144967? Or #155112? Or #161547? Or maybe #161865? Or perhaps #166177? How about #168454? Or #169968? I'm not trying to get a long, extended story going with any of these, just something to jump-start my creativity. . . .

Having never posted on this message board before, I figured I might as well and give you my few story entries to continue: http://bearchive.com/~addventure/game1/trees/auth/djinnitaur.html Yes, they are "plotless", though I have written non-BE djinni-stories with plots. Yes, they are of my fixation for djinn (genies), but I write what I know (and love.) If you want an idea of a form I use elsewhere for storytelling, here's a pic/profile: http://profiles.yahoo.com/djinni_taur I _may_ look at the episodes y'all are posting for further continuation, but it sure would help to see the titles of them with the numbers. Give me a better clue at a glance as to whether I want to try it out. Anyweigh, nice chew meetcha awl

Looks like I am an expert at killing threads yet again. I take it the genre of the Djinn is not all that popular, eh?

djinnitaur, I like your centaur episodes but I haven't had any time to write latley. Some time I'll add to several of them. I hope to do at least a little writing before Halloween. There's several wish granting threads so there is plenty of room for Djinn.

Thanks, yzal The centaur form has been one of my "fixations" for many years, so it's a natural to apply it with the djinn interest. I look forward to any more additions to my chapters, and now I will look at your chapters to see what they are like, and if I can add anything. I understand about not having the time to write. I can only do a little bit myself. I would love to be able to write up an entire story in chapter form with all the appropriate choices dreamed up, too. It would prevent those that love to tie up all the choices and kill a story thread (one of my few "disappointments" with these kind of story games.) Are you going to write some halloween-themed stories, too? I haven't really given that challenge much thought, but I suppose I could. Could have some interesting fun with various characters As to the wish-granting chapters, I am glad there is room for more djinn as I am probably best at writing in that genre. I have found a few of the ones where a character gets turned into a djinni, or one is "released". I have those chapters bookmarked, but have yet to go back to them and add more. I may, but we'll just have to see. I probably should see about writing some more centaur eps, too. Yawl gno whar 2 fine mi juan aye dew

I do have one or two little episodes you can check out Yep, I'm going to write a few halloween episodes this week and a few more on or around Halloween. Usually a couple of people will join in. Someone recently mentioned that the more elaborate episodes intimidated them, I hope I don't do that to people. Trust me I've never worked that hard on any one of my plotlines.

Same here... some people said they'd rather not add to what I write because it's too long (sorry) too complex (yeah right) or some such. Well, I don't know about the "too long" bit and guess that maybe it's true, but I write as long a "chunk" as I feel right... and about complexity: there's not much to say really. I make up most stuff as I go, but then again my past is a little weirder than the average, so that's where all the junk about engines and uchronia and political stuff comes from. So please add!

I certainly enjoy your stuff, Conrad - unfortunately, I haven't been able to get motivated to write anything lately. It's quite frustrating - I finally have the time to write, and come down with a major case for wrtier's block. Anyone know a good cure for the affliction? Fnord, Groblek

I do have a request, if I may... Something to follow with http://www3.bearchive.com/~addventure/game1/docs/181/181927.html
in which Jim basically gets beaten up and/or made fun of... it should be strong and humiliating enough to drive him to do something really crazy (don't worry, nothing to do with high school muggings). Otherwise, he has no reason to do what will catapult him into the Forgotten Tomorrow... [ October 29, 2001: Message edited by: Conrad Volkov ]

Hey,, so long as you (or anyone else) is taking requests,, how about picking up #122756...always dug that one, much more could happen and I have all the writing skills of a one-legged cat trying to bury a turd on the freeway. For this you have my gratitude.

I must be drunk to make this confession, but it would be interesting to see wether anyone would ever try to work one of my two main female characters (Karen and Stefi) into a sex scene... I don't think they would really dig each other though... [ November 07, 2001: Message edited by: Conrad Volkov ]

Well, yeah . . . but this is just one of my preferential 'trees'. I have several, though they seem to be dying out as I wait. http://www3.bearchive.com/~addventure/cgi-bin/newtreeview.cgi?root=35040&depth=10&showdates=on&showunwritten=on Er, that's the entire tree of that section. *bonks head on table* Sorry, with the Addventure down I can't get more specific than my bookmark-links. Also, [episode 72822] - Seems to have been 'killed' somewhere. Would like to see it develop. In the meantime, stay cool and don't eat the yellow snow.
