Using photoshop 6.0, I'm trying to modify a photo of a face so that it appears muted sunlight is coming overhead and is creating shadows on the face. I can get an effect using the filter>render>lighting effects in photoshop, but the results are either too dramatic or just plain blah! Any insight as to how I might solve this would be appreciated

paint with screen/ multiply/overlay airbrush  ansd white and grey tones on the face (perhaps layer it first to have a copy handy..) will get dramatic or less dramatic results or jsut use the filter and then 'apply'it only for a small percntage...

Thanks Hentai. Sounds a bit more labor intensive than I had hoped, but if that's the way to get it done then so be it.
