If you ever wanted to download all the videos from a YouTube video playlist, you could use FreeMake's Video Downloader (available for Windows only, here).

Instructions to use it to do it are here.

All you need to know:

Keepvid for youtube and the like

Flash video downloader chrome extension for everything else

Streamtransport for sites that have players designed to defeat downloaders (there is one in particular for which this is very useful)

Lately both Dirpy and VideoDownloadHelper have been wonky, so I've been looking for a supplement/replacement. Here's one I just came across:

Lately both Dirpy and VideoDownloadHelper have been wonky, so I've been looking for a supplement/replacement. Here's one I just came across:

Deturl Bookmarklet

Both still intermittently wonky. And lately, to download the highest-rez version of a video from within a few different Firefox plug-ins such as Video DownloadHelper or Video Download Professional, apparently a new 'converter' is required even just for a straight download (without asking for any conversion). Of course, the sudo terminal commands they provide to install the converter in Ubuntu Linux don't seem to work correctly: you get a license agreement for some Microsoft Truetype code or something like that (that you don't even want and can't imagine why it'd be needed) but since it appears in a terminal window, there's no way to say "OK" to the license terms so it just hangs halfway through the install. Nice. >:(

In any case, in some of the plugins, there's some new verbage about a "DASH" video format or standard, in which two streams of video are sent to provide the highest-rez version (even if the resulting video is well below HD, which is odd, because previously full HD seemed to stream fine over a single stream). The 'converter' (I'm guessing) is used to merge the two streams back into one saved/playable file on your computer. I don't think I got the converter to install properly on my PC, so right now when I'm trying to DL that half-GB highest-rez (526MB version) of that new Nancy Quill video of her in the black and white dress (http://forum.bearchive.com/index.php/topic,596327.msg10315856.html#msg10315856) two separate files are being downloaded: a "media.mp4" file which is 449MB and a separate "media.tmp" file that's 77MB. I'm letting it DL to the end, but I strongly suspect that when it's done, I will NOT have a single 526MB file saved to my drive (that's the size of the highest-rez version I asked to DL) due to the converter thing.

Added later: as expected, the two files did NOT recombine into one file. What I got was the big file which says it's an 854x470 video (which is the correct, highest-rez video) that plays (only in VLC, not in my regular player, which considers it to be a broken file) without any sound and the other 77MB "temp" file, which doesn't play at all.

BTW, though it took forever to start, I'm also simultaneously DLing the NQ vid with dirpy too... we'll see which version that gets (I asked for highest of course, and dirpy made no mention of converters, etc...). I'm hoping/theorizing that dirpy will get the best 526MB version, thinking that the dirpy server knows how to deal with the dual-stream DASH thing already... hopefully not just wishful thinking on my part.

Added later: though the highest-rez (526MB) version was requested, dirpy only got a 305MB 640x352 rez version. :(

PS: also/apparently: you can upgrade from Video Downloader Professional to Video Downloader Ultimatte, which will automatically do the DASH thing and combine the two streams back into a single playable file, but (of course) V.D.Ultimate is only presently available for Windows, and not for Linux.

If you've figured this all out already and I'm wrong on some meaningful points, please let me know. Thanks. :)

ADDED LATER: thanks to Rentahero's post here http://forum.bearchive.com/index.php/topic,596327.msg10316003.html#msg10316003 I tried his suggestion of using the website clipconverter.cc to convert (the separate dual-stream file into a single 526MB file) and save this Nancy Quill clip and it seems to be working (still DLing). :)

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the "new improved" version of VDH. It makes things very confusing. But what I do is I look for the entry that has "720p MP4" next to it, or the one with "1080p MP4", and download that instead. The whole "separate streams, one of which has no audio" format is nonsense. I am thisclose to reverting to the old version of the plugin.

I also tend to prefer using SaveFrom instead of Dirpy these days. When you have a YouTube video just change the http://www. part to pwn (making http://www.youtube.com/<something> into pwnyoutube.com/<something>. That will take you to the deturl page from which you can choose one of five different streaming downloading services. Then I choose the SaveFrom link, and you can get the highest-possible format of the download video from there.

How to Download a Video from tumblr (manual method)

1. Go to the URL in question: http://lovepeacenboobies.tumblr.com/post/126750576642/himiwako

2. Go to your browser's "View Source" function. On Google Chrome on Windows, press Ctrl-U.

3. Search for tumblr_video_container; it should show up only twice. Scan a little bit ahead in the line until you see the iframe src. Click on that URL; in this case, it's https://www.tumblr.com/video/lovepeacenboobies/126750576642/700/

4. Again, do "View Source".

5. Search for video/mp4; it should show up only once. There's a URL a little before that tag: in this case it's https://www.tumblr.com/video_file/126750576642/tumblr_nt4phrlGIs1t3yrjy/480

6. Right-click on that URL and choose "Save As...", and download the video and save it wherever you want.

That's it.

Other than using something like VideoDownload Helper, there are two ways to save a video from Faceb, one easier than the other. One is to go to the page where the video is, then change the URL to the mobile version of FB by changing the www to m. Then when that page shows up, start the video playing and then right-click on it and choose "Save As..."

The other way: plug the video's URL into FBdown.net.

Thanks, BiggyBoobs!

Here's a tip that requires no website other than Twitter itself, just add "mobile" and "." between "https://" and "twitter" of the URL ;D.

Using your link for example, https://mobile.twitter.com/Hitomi_official/status/895272348563021824/video/1

Play the video and you'll be able to right click to "save as" on computers or "download" on smartphones  ;).

I'm trying to download stuff from EngorgedTits.com so I installed Grab Any Media on Firefox (Mac OS X El Capitan) but that thing is useless. There are no straightforward video or other tutorials to show how to use it. Can any one help me out?

Zookie, I use Video DownloadHelper on Firefox.  I just tried it on EngorgedTits.com, and it downloads the videos from there just fine.
