Website & Graphic Novel-ish Thing
« on: August 21, 2001, 02:55:00 AM »
Hello, all. I just wanted to notify you all of an update at my site and the addition of an illustrated BE (et al.) story called "Lump of Clay." I would really appreciate some feedback on the latter.

On behalf of myself and various other imaginary friends I have, congratulations Candide! The beginning of the graphic novel is great and certainly one of the best illustrated stories I've seen so far.

I look forward to seeing more.

I thought it was really good, except for the "Not finished" part. :-)

Thank you, Tenebrae, PE, and MrHHH! I wasn't sure whether to expect any feedback, but to get positive remarks from the three of you, respected artists and members of the BE community... I'm flattered!

PE: I especially appreciate your comment about a "style all [my] own." You certainly have a unique style, yourself, and I believe that it's a good thing for any artist.

Me, respected? Surely there must be some sort of mistake...

Of course needless to say that 3 response shouldn't be rousing praise but I guess take what you get, history shows use it's better than a kick in the teeth or the abusive silence.

Tenebrae:
1) Sure you're respected.. er.. well, I've heard of you, at least, for what it's worth.
2) Two or three responses is about average for me. I got four here, two on my forum, and one via e-mail. That makes seven, which is obviously above average. At any rate: while your comments may seem insignificant, they aren't. Not by a long shot. One person's opinion, on the internet, tends to represent a much larger, lazier group.
3) While these responses weren't glowing praise, they were nonetheless positive, which is good.

Mr. Sebbo: Danke.

Well, drat. I went to see the comic, but I'm getting 404s all over the place. Did they take your work down?

Yes, yes. They took EVERYTHING down. This is terrible (and the fourth place I've been kicked out of.)   I've been bugging the webmaster from transform.to for some space, and hopefully I'll get it. .... Oi, so until further notice, Candide's is down. >_<

Any ideas on where I can get space would be appreciated

My advice is, get a free website, put up a dummy front page (ie: I love moss), and put the good stuff in a hidden directory. Give the url out here and you've got the webspace for your magnus opus (I've been doing it for years).

Love moss? Why not love shoes? Or love boots? Maybe even love boxes?!

Prophet Ten,
The significance of "I love moss" would suggest that because there is moss growing, there is no activity. Coined from "A rolling stone gathers no moss", a mock-up like that would attract very little (if any) traffic.

So, no love shoes then? I, for one, am disappointed.

Why isn't this niche market catered for, like a good BEA forum member I demand that the information be found and presented here as I'm too lazy/ inept to get it myself. :P
