This is a PROVISIONAL FAQ as regards all matters for people that might work for the Story Club. If, after reading this fully you still have questions - please ask them and they'll be answered to the best of my ability. No wise-cracking or fun allowed.

Q: I want to write a story for the BESC - who/where do I send it to?
A: All story submissions should be sent to prophet.tenebrae@gmail.com

Q: What format should I submit in?
A: .txt, .html, .doc and .rtf are all accepted.

Q: How are authors chosen?
A: Merit of story - if a story is of sufficiently high quality, it will either be accepted immediately or the first stage of editing will begin.

Q: Is there a suggested word limit?
A: The lower limit is 5,000 words but ideally stories should be between 10,000-20,000 words. Although longer stories are of course considered.

Q: How long from submission to publishing?
A: At the least - around two months... at the most, over six months.

Q: Will I get to see the finished story?
A: Authors will receive a copy of their story - at their request - purely for personal digestion.

Q: My story gets illustrated - do I have a say in what gets illustrated and how?
A: Suggestion for scenes throughout the story are appreciated but it would be beneficial if they could be equally spaced throughout the story for reasons of formatting.

Q: How about editing? Do I get a say in major rewrites?
A: Most of the time, if a story needs some serious rewriting - suggestions will be made so you can go and tinker with the story before submitting it again. So yes.

Q: So... what do I get for selling my story to the BESC?
A: 1.5 cents a word and the finished article.

Q: Do I get a BESC membership with that?
A: No - currently membership is not included in the payment scheme.

Q: How am I paid?
A: After you've signed your contract - you can be paid by check (cheque) or Paypal. If neither of these are suitable, other arrangements can be made.

Q: Wait, contract? Am I under some sort of a commitment to write for the BESC?
A: Not at all - the contract simply establishes the story as the property of the BESC. You are under no obligation to write for the BESC and can write as much or as little as you want.

Q: So I can't post this story elsewhere?
A: No. Pre-existing stories may be bought if the author submits a new part of an existing story series (at 0.1 cent a word) but that's the exception rather than the rule.

Q: I'm worried about my anonymity - getting money from a porn website won't look good!
A: All records of authors are held in complete confidentiality and payment is not issued directly by the BESC.

I'm afraid you'll have to elaborate because what you're saying is at best, ambiguous.

The story suggestions tool auto-generates a confirmation note sent via e-mail. Is there a similar process with sending in full stories? I attempted to send in a sample for consideration but I'm not sure it arrived or if I accidentally mailed it into the void .

Do we get to choose whether our story becomes a comic or not?  If we can, and we choose comic, do we have to submit our story in a different format?  For example, instead of submitting it like a regular book, with paragraphs and chapters, would we have to write it as a script, with lines and captions instead?

Tenebrae, I emailed you a revised part 1 and 2 more parts to my story we were discussing. Since you mentioned the first time I sent a story in that it fell through the cracks, I thought I'd mention I'd emailed you again .

Oh, yes - I got that. In fact, the story has been edited and sent off for illustration... Probably should have mentioned that...

Well, in that case I guess I'll forgive you .

Good to know. Sounds like I should be sure to finish that arc up then.

(Please email me the edited text so I can be sure future segments match up)

i forgot how this works but, what kind of writing format do you want the written stories to be in again? comic book wise or Novel wise, because i don't really understand how to write it in comic book form.

Have the terms of the contract for BESC changed?

I published one story a few years back, one of my first erotica sales ever.  Looking back, the contract terms I signed to weren't really too good.  I'm not complaining, I was just beginning back then, but if I'm going to submit anything now I'd want better terms.  I'm not looking for more money, I'm just saying that the only rights I should be granting in the contract are those you're actually going to use.  Also, the term of exclusivity (that is, forever) was too long.

Has that changed at all?

The contract remains the same. Something tells me that you're unlikely to get special dispensation without some kind of long term commitment to the club. That's about all I can say, I think.

I'm not asking for anything special.  I'm just saying that I'm picking where I send stories based on the contract terms, and I wanted to know if there was any reason to reconsider.

Thanks for the information.

I don't phrase or pay for the contracts - and I can say from personal experience, lawyers aren't exactly quick when it comes to rewriting contracts - but I'm guessing that changing the terms and conditions isn't on the cards. That said, I don't really want to turn anyone of talent away...

Just wanted to check as there is no info on the sites themselves- who are the editors for the BEstoryclub and the Giantessclub?  Are they accepting scripts or proposals?  I have a half-finished giantess script (a sequel to "Till She Gets Her Way) that was actually part of a contest prize, but that was with Lorekeep who I don't believe is associated with the site anymore.  I also have several comic ideas for both sites that I would like to get going if there is interest.  Thanks in advance:

Would you accept a submission that is intended to continue a story that began on the Story Club but was abandoned? I have ideas for continuing and concluding the Doom of Knockerville/Escape from Knockerville stories, but if you're not interested in continuing that story and/or you don't want people soliciting sequels/continuations of their own accord, I'd rather just save my time.
