Given the scale and longevity of the BEA community (about a decade old now... hard to believe that some of us have been hanging out together for so long!) it's inevitable that from time to time, real life will rear it's head. The bonds that many of us have formed with each other over the years may prompt some to share news of a more personal nature: births, passings, illnesses and recoveries, etc...

This new forum is intended to be the place for users to exchange these kinds of notices.

This is a great idea... although I hope to see more happy announcements here, when possible. Most of the ones we've had have been about illness, death, etc. I want to see weddings, births, and graduations from now on... you know, the good stuff in life.

Thanks to the mods for setting this up!

Did someone page Dr. Notty?

I would just like to say: the mental well-being of the BEA forumites is my utmost concern.  I offer laser beam therapy for a nominal fee.  Or, yano, if you just feel like talking, we can do that, too.  And if my eyes should happen to close in the middle of your life story, don't worry, that's perfectly normal.  Just keep going, I'm listening to every word...

This is a good idea, even though (unlike some people) I don't really mind the so-called proliferation of sticky threads. It's good and fitting to have a section of the Forum devoted to what is happening to BEArs in real life. I also look forward to fewer death notices and more about the achievements of the living.

Some of us BE fans are young, and we still have places to go. This place will be brightened yet. Having just finished the Stretcher & Al/Doggo threads, I know things must get better.

If I ever get anywhere, I'll let you know.

Kinda wish I'd have gotten involved in the BE world a few years ago, but now is better than never.
