In Defense of Double D - Salon.com article
« on: January 24, 2008, 04:29:25 PM »
One large-chested journalist decides she LIKES the way her boobs fill out a tight tee shirt.

Piece is dated Dec. 2000 - I'm sure it's been posted here somewhere but I can't find it. Sorry if that upsets anyone.

I prefer the first article. The second is the same sob
story the media has been force-feeding us for years.
Boo hoo, they're too heavy, my back hurts, my
shoulders hurt, clothes don't fit, it's hard to find a
bra, people stare and make rude comments, men think
I'm easy, women think I'm a slut.

Which isn't to say there isn't merit to all of those
comments, but we've been hearing the same tired
viewpoint from Jenny Jones and Rikki Lake to Oprah
Winfrey and Tyra Banks. It's nice to hear the opposite
viewpoint, from a woman who says "**** all those
people who let the media think for them and tell them
what looks good and what looks rude. I've got a great
pair of breasts and I'm happy with them. Sure there
are downsides, but there are a lot of positives as
well."

If the media presented more viewpoints like that,
there would be fewer women who were self conscious or
embarrassed about the way they looked, fewer women who
felt compelled to chop off what nature blessed them
with, and more clothing companies who catered to women
with such wondrous figures.
