For all you new [censored]-BEA of the past!
« on: January 14, 2008, 07:52:32 AM »
This is the BEA as we knew it back in 1998 when the BEA was just starting out. We've come a long way baby.

 The BEA just learning to walk.

Us old timers will feel a little twinge in our chests for times gone by...

Now, not all the links work but it's just like being there.

I remember it fondly. The more things change the more they are the same!

Oh wow. That brings back memories. I remember the old layout quite fondly. I was thrilled to have found this place, yet I was not of legal age to participate (16 or 17). Didn't stop me from givin' the stories a read though. I remember many of them quite fondly.

Thanks for the blast from the past!

I found this and I swear I was back in my friends living room again on his crappy little 350Mhz laptop with it's twelve inch screen on Windows 95. My first download was a BustArtist Fantity. This was the place that introduced me to Chloe Vevrier and showed me that I wasn't the only one who erased the boobs off of girls in magazines and drew them in larger than life. Now I have Photoshop CS2. Ah, those glorious days...

Damn, it always sucks to remember what you missed out on, for whatever reason, all those years ago.  I remembered wanting to see some of the members content then, by the time I got all my stuff together, it was gone off the site totally.  I just wish that I could find it somewhere.

 Call me a Luddite, or maybe just an old curmudgeon... but I sort of enjoyed it more way back when. Of course, I feel the same way about computers and the internet too... both seemed a lot more interesting in the late 70's when only a tiny handful of people knew about them, let alone used them.

Color me cranky.

I mostly agree with Palomine here. There are times it feels like the overall quality of the internet has diminished as the quantity has increased. When any Tom, Dick, and Harry can post lots of anything easily there is less impetus to filter. Back when it could take 5 min. to download or upload a single image or you had to wait an hour or more for the bigger things - people were more focused. Yes, there was still junk, but it was choice junk.

There was some great stuff in the PRE-CRASH forum. It is too bad that there was no decent back-up. The best we could hope for is a special thread where long-time members could contribute any few pieces that may still have, sort of a "best or the old BEA" thread.

 Dear folks,
I miss the old logo!  I miss some of the old posters... I was a member back then, before the crash too.

<sigh>

Kindest regards,

Bone...
