I went to the Indy 500 this year and was amazed that twilight lasted until almost 10pm, and that was on May 24th. Where I live, twilight never lasts past 9:30pm, even on the day of the year with the latest sunset (roughly July 1st).
That is because the state "sits" essentially atop the time change line (it just shifted along the Illinois / Indiana border for geo-political reasons) The conspicuous late twilight is due to the combination of the newly adopted DST and being partially over the time change line.
Indiana is really to far west to be in the Eastern Time Zone.
Still love that all the major reasons given to observe DST have been shown to not be true in Indiana's recent adoption.
