How messed up is the White House?

They can barely manage the annual Easter Egg Roll.

A tradition over 130 years old, "It’s the single most high-profile event that takes place at the White House each year, and the White House and the first lady are judged on how well they put it on," according to Melinda Bates, who organized it for the Clintons during their eight years at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Wells Wood Turning, the company that makes the thousands of wooden eggs used in the event, had to tweet a reminder to the Trumps back in February of the approaching manufacturing deadline. The White House, thanks to their delays, was only able to order half the eggs that Obama did last year.

DC public schools were expecting to get thousands of tickets, but haven't heard from the White House. Military families usually get 3,000 tickets. "Unfortunately, the Trump administration has not reached out about it," Ashley Broadway-Mack, the president of the American Military Partner Association told the NY Times. Congress members have also not been contacted about tickets for their constituents.

PBS K|ds, which provides the costumes for the event, was also late to know of the White House’s plans. Because of the tardy requests, they will only be providing one "Sesame Street" character this year.

Almost always, the planning for the event falls under the tasks of the First Lady and her staff. But like the rest of the administration, Melania is waaay behind on picking staff. Maybe if she wasn't living in New York....

http://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/11/us/politics/white-house-easter-egg-roll-trump.html

Well this junta administration is all about breaking with the tradition, drying the swamp. So they do with this event. The first thing this junta administration is ever successful with.

America first! Easter bunny second!

The Easter Bunny's probably from Mexico anyway. Sad!

Speaking of incompetence: This is rich.
ABC News: "Russian foreign minister scolds Tillerson over Syria during Moscow visit"
Quote

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was met with a stern scolding by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Wednesday, as the two leaders convened for a full day of meetings in Moscow.

Lavrov criticized the U.S. for airstrikes on the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, warned that similar action was unacceptable to Russia, and chided the Trump administration for an inconsistent foreign policy and vacant positions at the State Department.

"I will be frank that we have a lot of questions regarding very ambiguous as well as contradictory ideas on a whole plethora of bilateral and international agenda coming from Washington," he said through a translator.

"We have seen just recent highly alarming actions, when there was the unlawful attack against Syria," he added. "We believe it fundamentally important not to let these actions happen again in the future."

And in Dept. of Injustice news:

Attorney-General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, a man who Coretta Scott King wrote a letter against to prevent him from getting a federal judgeship, because he was so racist, has just done the following:

1. Rescinded orders to close private prisons, saying "We're going to need them";
2. Brought back mandatory minimum sentencing, even though these disproportionately affect non-white offenders;
3. Re-started the so-called "War on Drugs", which is actually a way to target non-white offenders with more stringent sentences than their white counterparts (see #2 above);
4. Ended Justice Department investigations into hundreds of incidents of police overreach; and
5. Closed the commission dedicated to increasing scientific screening in convictions, a commission which has used DNA evidence to overturn the sentences of people who were convicted for crimes they did not commit.

This is not normal.

NPR: "White House Says It Will No Longer Release Visitor Logs To The Public"

The Trump administration says it will not make public the names of those visiting the White House, reversing the Obama administration's policy.

White House communications director Michael Dubke said in a statement that the decision was due to the "the grave national security risks and privacy concerns of the hundreds of thousands of visitors annually," NPR's Scott Horsley reports.

Dubke added that the logs would be disclosed "as outlined under the Freedom of Information Act." FOIA does not apply to the president or his immediate staff.

Watchdog groups immediately criticized the decision, with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington calling it a "massive step away from transparency."

"The only reasonable conclusion is to believe the Trump administration has many things it is trying to hide," the American Civil Liberties Union said in a statement, also referencing the administration's relationship with the media....

It's worth noting that during Obama's presidency, Trump questioned his transparency and once wondered whether Obama might be "hiding something" by not releasing records.

It's going to be interesting when Congress comes back from their Easter break. The investigations into collusion with Russia should pick up.

The Guardian (UK) has reported that British intelligence knew of contacts between Trump's team and Russia as early as 2015, and they and other western agencies have been sharing what they knew with US intelligence well before the summer of 2016.

"They [the European agencies] were saying: 'There are contacts going on between people close to Mr Trump and people we believe are Russian intelligence agents. You should be wary of this.' The message was: 'Watch out. There’s something not right here.' "

Carter Page, a former foreign policy aide to Trump, has been found to have been in contact with Russian agents. A ledger has turned up showing that Paul Manafort got millions of dollars from Russian officials.

Get ready.....

Simple answer his fanboys will never see or understand, but democracy and western value oriented people always said. He's the biggest liar the US has ever seen.

The Guardian: "Thermonuclear war possible ‘at any moment’, warns North Korea – video"

One of North Korea’s most senior representatives to the United Nations warns that the Trump administration’s aggressive approach to dealing with the secretive nation risks pushing the situation to “the brink of war”. Kim In-ryong tells a press conference on Monday that his country is ready to “react to any mode of war desired by the US”

Whether they're just sabre-rattling or whether they're deadly serious, it doesn't matter. This is what all of those idiots who were saying "Hillary is no better" have brought us to. I hope those ignorant fuckheads are satisfied.

And meanwhile Turkey changes into a dictatorship, while still being a member of NATO. Well the situation with Turkey was always difficult for that matter.

"Bill O'Reilly Axed From Fox News"
The man who President Donald Trump defended amidst harassment allegations is getting the boot from the conservative network.
Quote

Bill O’Reilly is out of a job at Fox News.

After more than 20 years at the network, O'Reilly's tenure at the conservative news corporation is over. In a statement released Wednesday, the company and O'Reilly agreed to part ways. The move comes in the wake of harassment allegations and reports that five women had been paid to keep quiet, the Associated Press reports.

...O’Reilly is currently on an Italian vacation until next week. The tide first began to turn on O’Reilly after he made disrespectful remarks about Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Then New York Times dropped a bombshell which revealed that Fox News had paid off five women to the tune of $13 million for not going public with their allegations of harassment against Bill O’Reilly.

Former O’Reilly producer Andrea Mackris received a large settlement of $9 million after a 2004 sexual harassment lawsuit.

Despite the fact that O’Reilly’s ratings increased during the new sexual harassment allegations, The O’Reilly Factor lost over 40 advertisers and Fox News felt the heat.

[The Pussy Grabber-in-Chief] defended O'Reilly as the allegations began to mount,

"I think he shouldn't have settled; personally I think he shouldn't have settled. Because you should have taken it all the way. I don't think Bill did anything wrong," he said.

The O'Reilly Factor was the number one show in cable news for over 15 years.

And Jason "It's Not Unethical if a Republican Does It" Chaffetz (R-UT) has announced he won't run for re-election.

Interesting, since he won both his primary and the election last year with roughly 75% of the vote.... Maybe since Clinton isn't around anymore, he's got no reason to be in Congress?

It is also worth marking April 28 on your calendar. That's the date that, if Congress can't pass a funding bill in the meantime, several government departments will shut down for lack of funding. It also happens to be "Day 99" in Trump's First 100 Days, which even though it really isn't, the White House is taking very seriously.

He's done more flip-flops than a freshly-caught trout.

Two years ago: NATO IS OBSOLETE!
Now: NATO is no longer obsolete because they backed my bombing of Syria.

Two years ago: CHINA IS A CURRENCY MANIPULATOR AND IS RAVAGING THE US!
Now: I won't be labeling China as a currency manipulator because we shared a nice chocolate cake in my private club.

Two years ago: ASSAD IS NOT OUR PROBLEM AND WE SHOULD STAY OUT OF THE SYRIAN CIVIL WAR!
Now: Assad is a butcher and and I bombed them because I saw some news coverage on TV in between getting my ego massaged on Faux News.

Two years ago: NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT RUSSIA!
Now: Er, still nothing bad to say about Russia.

Well, at least one thing has stayed the same...

I wonder if Chaffetz and Mary McCord (acting assistant attorney general at the National Security Division, overseeing the Trump/Russia investigation, who is resigning in May) have been intimidated by the monumentality of this clusterfuck and the potential of becoming instrumental players in a dark milestone of American History? (Horrible sentence, but you get my drift, I hope.)
