The dragnet is getting stronger.
Reports are that Robert Muller has brought in the IRS' Criminal Investigations Unit for his investigation. They're one of the super-duper specialized agencies in the entire government, and they focus on money laundering and tax evasion. "They view them with the highest regard," said Martin Sheil, a retired IRS Criminal Investigations agent. "IRS special agents are the very best in the business of conducting financial investigations. They will quickly tell you that it took an accountant to nab Al Capone, and it’s true."
Another new member of Muller's Justice League of Extraordinary Investigators? NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. He's specifically looking into Paul Manafort's financial affairs, but it should also be noted that Trump does a lot of business on Schneiderman's turf. And that presidential pardons do NOT apply to state-level crimes....
