Remember when Michael Cohen mocked the part of the Steele dossier that said that he had visited Prague to meet with a Russian handler, by tweeting a photo of the front of his passport and "I have never been to Prague in my life #FakeNews"? Well...

And now you have that lying slimeball of a Sean Hannity talking out of both sides of his mouth. He's trying to claim attorney/client privilege while at the same time saying that he never paid Michael Cohen for the legal advice he got from him while at the same time saying "he gave him $10 and asked for attorney/client privilege". You can't both be his client and not his client. That's like saying "she was almost pregnant". And it was Cohen's lawyer who said that Hannity had asked that his name not be revealed as Cohen's third client, so either Cohen and/or his lawyer just perjured himself (possible but not probable), or Hannity is lying (both probable and possible, since we have hours and hours of him on tape lying through his teeth all day, every day, just like the person he fluffs all day on his show).

Disgusting.

Remember when Felix Sater wrote a letter to someone saying "Our boy [the current occupant of the Oval Office] can get elected and we can engineer it. I will get Putin's team to buy in on this." You'll never guess who he wrote that letter to.

Does anyone seriously believe that Michael Cohen's going to do hard federal jail time and risk being debarred instead cooperating with the feds? On the contrary, he's gonna be flipping like pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

You know I just developed a new conspiracy theory. Reality has been twisted since election day.
When Trumpelstilsken get debunked and he has enough of it, it just makes pufffff and the twisting is gone and Hillary Clinton is president. And nobody remembers there was an idiot named Trumpelstilsken president with some other mindless creatures beside him. The only thing that is strange is that sulphur smell in the White House which is fading slowly.

Just in time to ruin El Presidente's weekend, the DNC has filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump Campaign, Wikileaks, and Russia:

Quote
The complaint, filed in federal district court in Manhattan, alleges that top Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government and its military spy agency to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and help Trump by hacking the computer networks of the Democratic Party and disseminating stolen material found there.

“During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign,” DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement.

“This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency,” he said.

Quote
We believe that Russia found a willing partner in the Trump campaign, who shared their goal of damaging the Democratic Party and helping elect Donald Trump. The Trump campaign had repeated secretive communications with Russian agents and WikiLeaks. Russian agents told Trump advisors that the Kremlin wanted to help Trump and had stolen emails and other material that could damage Trump’s opponent. And Trump’s closest political advisor, Roger Stone, had advance knowledge of a major release of stolen Democratic emails.

Personally, I don’t think the suit will amount to much, but the simple act of filing it consolidates and clarifies all the issues at hand.

Russia tried to interfere with our election. WikiLeaks helped. And the Trump Campaign, even if they were not an active conspirator, at least knew about it and did nothing to stop it.

Whether or not the interference had any effect is irrelevant. We were attacked (this is warfare in the 21st century, people….). Neither the Trump Administration nor the GOP cares.

One notes that the last time the DNC brought a civil suit like this was during Watergate - and they won.

Russia and WikiLeaks are probably not going to have to worry. But if the suit does get past the inevitable Motion to Dismiss from Trump & Co., then it goes to the Discovery phase, where all the details and connections between the dots will have to come out....

Yes, this may be more than merely symbolic. I do note that it's his son that's named in the suit and not him. That will make for interesting dinner table conversation.

And speaking of leaking: remember all the times he claimed that James Comey is a "leaker!"? The DOJ finally handed over Comey's contemporaneous memos to Congress, and guess what happened? They leaked them!

Meanwhile, he has been losing legal representatives as the Titanic heads closer to the iceberg, and decided to hire his favorite crossdresser to join his team.

This is really, really, scary.

Quote

For seven decades, “never forget” has been a rallying cry of the Holocaust remembrance movement.

But a survey released Thursday, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, found that many adults lack basic knowledge of what happened — and this lack of knowledge is more pronounced among millennials, whom the survey defined as people ages 18 to 34.

Thirty-one percent of Americans, and 41 percent of millennials, believe that two million or fewer Jews were killed in the Holocaust; the actual number is around six million. Forty-one percent of Americans, and 66 percent of millennials, cannot say what Auschwitz was. And 52 percent of Americans wrongly think Hitler came to power through force.

“As we get farther away from the actual events, 70-plus years now, it becomes less forefront of what people are talking about or thinking about or discussing or learning,” said Matthew Bronfman, a board member of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, which commissioned the study. “If we wait another generation before you start trying to take remedial action, I think we’re really going to be behind the eight ball.”

Lots to dig into here.

WIRED: "How Russian FB Ads Divided and Targeted US Voters Before the 2016 Election"

"When Young Mie Kim began studying political ads on FB in August of 2016—while Hillary Clinton was still leading the polls— few people had ever heard of the Russian propaganda group, Internet Research Agency. Not even FB itself understood how the group was manipulating the platform's users to influence the election. For Kim, a professor of journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the goal was to document the way the usual dark money groups target divisive election ads online, the kind that would be more strictly regulated if they appeared on TV. She never knew then she was walking into a crime scene.

Over the last year and a half, mounting revelations about Russian trolls' influence campaign on FB have dramatically altered the scope and focus of Kim's work. In the course of her six-week study in 2016, Kim collected mounds of evidence about how the IRA and other suspicious groups sought to divide and target the US electorate in the days leading up to the election. Now, Kim is detailing those findings in a peer-reviewed paper published in the journal Political Communication. The researchers couldn't find any trace, in federal records or online, of half of the 228 groups it tracked that purchased FB ads about controversial political issues in that six-week stretch. Of those so-called "suspicious" advertisers, one in six turned out to be associated with the Internet Research Agency, according to the list of accounts FB eventually provided to Congress. What's more, it shows these suspicious advertisers predominantly targeted voters in swing states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

"I was shocked," says Kim, now a scholar in residence at the Campaign Legal Center, of the findings. "I sort of expected these dark money groups and other unknown actors would be on digital platforms, but the extent to which these unknown actors were running campaigns was a lot worse than I thought."...

The second part of Kim's research focused on who exactly these unregulated ads—including both standard dark money ads and Russian ads—targeted. She found that voters in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin, all states with tight races, were the most targeted. Specifically, voters in Wisconsin were targeted with gun ads about 72 percent more often than the national average. She also found that white voters received 87 percent of all immigration ads....

The aspect of her research that bothered Kim the most is that some of these groups could have been stopped—or at least discouraged—by stricter campaign finance laws. For instance, 25 percent of all the ads contained a message that mentioned Trump or Clinton by name. If those ads had appeared on television during that same time, they'd be considered "electioneering communications," meaning they'd have to include a disclaimer about who paid for the ad and disclose to the FEC the source of their funding. Online, anything goes...

So basically if you rely on the corporate news media and online information you were running blind in making a voting decision. Reading an autobiography of the candidate would be almost the only way to go. Even in the debate they were carefully orchestrated question that wouldn't ask anything that could hurt the corporation images in the USA, and not include candidate that were more likely to be critical of the corporate influences over the politician.

Didn't Carlin say that if Democracy was possible that they would make it illegal?
"Yesterday, Reince Priebus called this whole story a 'nothing burger,'" he said. "Well these emails have turned it into an all-you-can-prosecute buffet."
