Given how low the turnout was for his Inauguration:

Trump's staff had to really work hard to find a good photo to use as a banner background for the new President's Twitter page.

They wound up using (apparently stolen from Getty Images) a photo from Obama's inauguration

http://www.gq.com/story/trump-steals-obama-inauguration-photo

After Liberals blocked venues, caused riots and showed great disregard for the constitutional outcome of the election, is it any wonder that the turnout was so low ? Did Conservatives go on riots and threatened lives when Obama was elected ? No, they accepted their loss and worked hard to recover the prize. Since Obama was elected in 2008, the Democrat high point, the Democrats have lost over 1,000 elected positions in Federal, State and Local venues. Obama not only doubled the national debt, but devastated the Democratic party. It is time many of you Liberals get out of your echo chamber and explore the huge, vast America that you have contempt for which defeated you in this last three biennial elections and learn. Trump was never my first choice but he did defeat the Bush and Clinton dynasties which is good in the long run. This " Deplorable " one is happy for the result.

Some Twitter comments on the entertainment at the Inauguration:

"Somewhere in the Caribbean a cruise ship sails without any entertainment. thanks a lot" - Diomi Cordero

"This Inaugural Ball is a veritable Who's Who of performers. As in, who are any of them?" - John Dastoli

Speaking of making fun of Trump on Twitter, voice actor Billy West has been reading passages from Trump's speeches in the voice of Zapp Brannigan:

I have a question as to what time the pic for Trumps side was taken?

Although checking through the DC Metro twitter feed there are a few pics taken from a news video feed (MSNBC?) time stamped at 11:10 AM.

However if you want to see a crowd  on the DC Mall check this one from an imaging satellite that passed over during the Comedy Central rally to Restore Sanity and or Fear.

Now THAT's a crowd.
I think I've seen one Trumpel inauguration picture in German media with about 20% more people than the one above. Maybe this are the alternative facts (the now political correct new altright speak for lies?) that were mentioned.

With regards to the timing of that Trump Inauguration photo:

"This photo by Reuters News Pictures staff photographer Lucas Jackson was taken at 12:01:18 p.m. on Friday and not much earlier as many people are trying to claim." - Jim Bourg, Reuters (Source)

That would make it at pretty much the exact minute that The Donald was being sworn in.

Anyway, is it too soon for Downfall memes?

Guess not.....

And the Obama 2009 one? What time was this? Does someone know?

Someone remember Comical Ali?

I think Trumpel found him again. He became white house press secretary.

Information Minister Comical Ali presenting "alternative facts":

I'm pretty sure it was all a media campaign against him and the media were lying all the time about what he said ... That's why he had a close eye on the media, too and taking them into responsibility about what they say and report.

Hillary was a flawed candidate, maybe, maybe not, but if she had won, we would not be seeing the insanity that is going on right now. It's been only a week and already he's brought us ever closer to the brink of war with China ("the US will not tolerate China’s expansion onto islands in the South China Sea"); the USDA has been ordered to stop communicating with the public through social media or the press and to stop publishing any papers or research; he's ordered the resumption of construction on the Dakota Access Pipeline, while the North Dakota state congress considers a bill that would legalize hitting and killing protestors with cars if they are on roadways; and he brought a group of 40 cheerleaders to a meeting with the CIA to cheer for him during a speech that consisted almost entirely of framing himself as the victim of dishonest press.

This is not normal. This is worse than "not normal". This is clear insanity.

A president who cares more about TV ratings than about making decisions based upon scientific fact, or verifiable facts, is a loss for all of us, whether you are Republican, Democrat, Independent, Green Party, whatever. To all these people saying "we won, you lost, suck it up, buttercup": if you are not a rich, old, straight, white (or white supremacist) man, You. Won. Nothing. We all lost. All of us.

It will take a lot to get us back to normal, if indeed we can ever get back to normal.

You probably meant to put this over in the regular Politics thread - because there's nothing funny about the President's irrational, dangerous behavior.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled humor:

From MSNBC's Christopher Hayes: "A contact sends along a picture of a bookcase in what's called the Old State Department Library in the EEOB. It's the first thing you see"

The Trump Presidential Library, perhaps?

There sure are a lot of crybabies. Libs need to stop trying to tell other people how they should feel and think. Its that simple. Move on. Get over it. Be "inclusive." Stop bullying the right and practice what you preach with that whole Love Trumps Hate catchphrase.

Trump won, suck it up butterflies! /sarc? lol.

My recommendation for this "Funny Politics" thread ....

rename it.

Since Trump wants to allow torture again like in the dark middle age we should now name it "torture politics". This is future-proof. And for civilized persons this Trumpel guy is really a torture.

It is impossible to leave the union. That was decided in 1865. Not only was slavery violently ended by the Civil War, it also ended with the decision that no state has the right to vote to secede. The precedent set by Lincoln still stands.
