Given that it’s going to be something of a long runner and given that I’m kind of a glutton for feedback, I thought it would be an okay idea if I posted this thread.

Welcome to Chastity 6 was just released on the BE Story Club, and with it the story is about half over. I’ve been told that it’s a “talky” issue and I think that’s a fair criticism, as was the previous issue. The next is going to be the last of that sort, as after that I feel that the pacing picks up a fair bit. So I guess my question is, is it retaining interest? I know there was a great outcry for more and I appreciate that. Is it disappointing anyone?

My $0.02. I like it a lot ! I'm really looking forward to see if Mei gets bigger than a house  . At least, I suspect and I'm hoping she does.

I'm still very interested however a bit disappointed, part 5 I could let go as not having much growth in it, part 6 was interesting story wise, but even if they didn't move the plot forward there could have been a bit more detail in the sister getting so big, if not how, just at least showing it, she went from big to needing a sling to help her get around from one panel to next.  I like the story but it's odd to have 2 parts of a "BE" story with out any "BE".  Which in part goes back to my issue with comics to begin with since the stories are broken up, we only get a bit of story at a time, so in a series or part of a series with slow pacing, just tends to feel like a waste.  Overall I still really like the story it's why I resumed my membership at the story club, I just don't like how broken up the chapters are and combined with "talky" chapters it doesn't sit well.

Yeah, sorry about that. It wasn't until after writing these issues that I realized how light they were on actual process. Part of that is because issues four through seven only spanned a 48 hour period in story. part of it was my thinking that the default huge sizes would make up for that, but mostly it was due to my relative inexperience at scripting out a comic of this length. Ten pages always sounded like a lot in my head but I ended up running out of space to get to the fetish elements over and over. If I were able to go back and do things differently Mei would probably have grown a little more at the start of issue 4 to balance things out.

I can promise more growth in the issue after next, and in fact I was so concerned about the story ending up BE light that I added a fair amount later on (one issue in particular is about 70% onscreen BE content to make up for these plot heavy issues). Either way I hope you'll stick with it, as when all is said and done I think you'll get what you're asking for.

I feel you really excel at character and humor which makes your comics some of my favorites.  I do agree with the problems of "talky" episodes.  My suggestion is that if you feel your stuck with lots of dialogue and little action there is a pretty easy solution.  Think of your scenes not as one element, but as two- a foreground action and a background action.  If your characters need to get through some information, try adding an interesting aside going on at the same moment.  For example, in issue five, as the main characters were talking, some of the other students could have been shown reacting to the situation.  In the latest issue, we could have actually seen the sister try to retrieve the remote on her own as dialogue balloons come from upstairs.  As they chatted Mei could have found more photos showing the sister's progression as Angelusx noted. 
A great tip I learned from listening to the commentary on "The Terminator" is that you can try to tie long dialogue scenes into and action scene- they don't need to be separate.  The example Cameron gave was that he had a long scene of Kyle explaining everything to Sarah Conner with the two of them just sitting and talking.  He also had a car chase.  To tighten things up he simply put the two together.  The explanation is given during the car chase.  Certainly this approach doesn't always work, but it's a good thing to keep in mind. 
Please don't take this as criticism as it's when your stories pop up that I resubscribe which is pretty much the biggest complement I can give.  That and you're motivating me to write.

Now that you point it out that would've been a better way to go with that scene taking about the sister. Coincidentally I did get the idea to do something along those lines to spice up a phone conversation in the next issue. You'll have to tell me if it works.

I really like the series. Episode 5 is a bit slow but the sister in six really makes up for it, I think. I imagine it's intended to serve as something of a preview of what's in store for the protagonist, though I know we'll all be disappointed if Mei doesn't end up dwarfing everyone pictured thus far.

This story is the reason that I am subscribed to the besc.  I do like the plot twists.  It would seem that with every twist and unveiling of a new part of the history of how this town came into existence, that a discovery is made, and with that that there are larger and larger girls around every corner.  That is until we come upon the source of the towns mysterious breast growth, which in one way or another happens to be the absolute largest...  But how it gets there would be the fun part. 

I did especially like the parts showing mei interacting with her environment as she slowly grew.

This was the last chapter in that "forty eight hour" period I mentioned a few posts ago. There's a time skip in between this and the next issue, and with it comes some BE. I also (personally) think that this was the last issue to really have a pacing problem and that I hit my stride from here onto the finish. But yes, I can definitely promise that someone's breasts will be growing larger very soon.

In retrospect it seems strange to me given there's a section of town where every woman is so large she needs mechanical assistance to move around.

It's actually kind of complicated. What happened was that I wrote the first three issues and shipped them off, never heard back, and figured they'd been passed on. Then about a year and a half later just happened to get messaged by someone unrelated to the BESC that they'd put out the first issue. I was admittedly a little sore about it, and it took me a while to get it straightened out with the guys that as far as I know are no longer a part of the BESC.

Thing is, in the interim I had decided to go in a different direction for the story, (mainly because I'm not a fan of mind control stuff and the original version was full of it) and I wanted to change the comic to the new idea, but was told that the art up to issue 3 was already finished and couldn't be changed under any circumstances.

So I kind of had to make a choice; continue with the original idea when my heart wasn't in it, or try and gradually shift the story back to the revised version I'd written. This is the end result and I think it works out (I at least like how the story came out but to each his own). I will admit that a side effect of not being able to rewrite was some of the pacing issues you guys are seeing. I wish I could have avoided them, and now that I see them I can think of a few ways I might have been able to, but hindsight is 20/20.

My hope is that when the series is finished it'll have been worth the slower parts. I know that not everyone loves plot with their porn but maybe this will get a few converts?

Plot in porn ?   What's that ?   Well...... OK, if you insist. Just make sure Mei ends up the biggest of them all by far.

So it looks like part 8 is out and with it Mei's gone up another (several) cup sizes. It's been pointed out to me that so far all the BE has been off panel and that's kind of disappointing. I kind of see where that criticism is coming from in retrospect and wish I had come up with more ways to fit on screen process earlier in the story.

I say earlier because the next issue has quite a bit of it, as does the last. But overall I'm hoping this chapter is well received.

I wouldn't be as interested if it were super porny.

'Boots-to-the-sky' porny has it's merit. If nothing else, when done well it can grab your attention quickly and provide a quick shot of entertainment. (and yeah, that doesn't sound right. or possibly sounds exactly right... whatever )

But plot-heavy porn also has merit. It takes longer to get through, but having the whole thing make some form of sense (even if it's not reality-based) can make for more of a mental investment in what's happening. Which is the kind of thing that sticks with ya longer.

I say go with whatever you feel fits best, writer.

Well, it looks like part 9 is out, and with it I'm starting to realize that I either wrote the issue summaries poorly or listed them out of order, since they kind of read as being an issue ahead of what actually happens.
As far as the actual issue in question goes, hopefully this satisfies those of you that have been wanting more on screen expansion, and those of you that like "Wow" sized girls. Sorry it took so long to get there.

Four issues left now, and the comic is in its final act. Thanks for reading thus far.

If I did a spinoff I would likely have it be set before this story and centered on new characters. I did have an idea for an epilogue issue, and I'd like to get it made as well as some other ideas, but as far as I know the BESC isn't accepting new submissions.

That's not up to me. It'd be nice if there was some big completed collection put out with some of the typos fixed.

No, an actual one.

I've read the story over several times, and there seems to be a conspiracy on making Mei Lau's breasts huge. Or in the very least, an interest in breaking any and all records in Chastity breast size.

Breast size seems to indicate positions of wealth, power and social status.

The conspirators in getting Mei Lau, or someone in general, with a record breaking bust size, appears to be the Mayor, the 'Firestarter' character, and Gwen.

So, it seems to me, that when Mei Lau starts breaking records, the conspirators will want to take her away... for whatever nefarious purposes they may have.

Or maybe, the conspirators can try and kidnap Rayya's sister, Tara, in order to ensure Mei Lau's place as the biggest busted girl in Chastity. It would be interesting to see how Tara gets around 'off track.'


One more thing:

In BE story tradition, Mei Lau needs to far out grow every other girl in Chastity.

There should be a mention of the hither to, never precedented, rate of growth of Mei Lau. Maybe have Rayya express worry or dismay at how fast Mei Lau is growing.

Can't wait to see issue 10. I reluctantly joined the BESC last month and whilst every previous month had 3 comics per month, there seems to be only two for July! Not complaining, just cursing my luck.

Sorry I haven't replied to my own thread in a while, but I was waiting for the comic to progress a little further on before coming back to talk about it.

We're definitely into the final act now. There's only three issues left and while I can't promise all your demands will be met (since it's been off to print for months now) I'm fairly sure that all the questions asked thusfar will be answered, and I'm pretty happy with how the story came out all things considered. It DOES end a bit abrupt though, and like I mentioned a couple months ago, I've been toying with the idea of  a single epilogue issue that takes place a few years later in the story, to wrap up any potential loose ends and give a slightly more complete farewell to the cast. Not to mention to see how much they've grown.

So, what would you guys think about that? Given the long turnaround in publishing it might be better for me to strike while the iron is hot, but I know the series is long, (probably the longest the BESC has published) and it's not all been perfect, so I don't want to overstay my welcome or anything. So, would you guys be interested in seeing an epilogue?

Or heck, just more comics from me in general? I don't have anything else on the production wait list at the moment, and I feel like I've learned a lot about writing and what kinds of things you'd want to see, so in theory I could come back to one of my other comics (Spore, or A Pirate's Life) and write sequels or extensions to those, or something new entirely.
