problem with gifs / animation shop pro/ irfanview

I noticed lately that any gif that i made or ones that I have saved from the net no longer animate, they open up my animation program showing all the frames of said gif side by side instead of just animating when I click on them.  any ideas, I do not recall making any changes to the animations or the program that makes them.  I can still upload them to hosting sites or attach them (if under the file limit) but that's about it.

EDIT: I right clicked a gif and it said 'open with animation shop pro' I selected open with my image viewer (irfanview) and hit save and they all animate now, I tried to remove the thread but no luck, so mods, feel free to lock this thread as I answered my own question LOL.

Let's just leave it. It's an informative thread for anybody using those apps. Maybe somebody will have something to add.

good call, the bizarre thing is I do not know how that happened in the first place
