Could someone who can't access http://old.bearchive.com/~chili/ please try the following experiment for me?
(Because I'm not having any trouble accessing it, so I can't figure out why you are.)

• Log out of BEArchive.
• Delete all of your browser's BEA-related cookies.
• Quit and restart your browser.
• Log into BEArchive.
• Try to go to http://old.bearchive.com/~chili/
• Reply here and let me know if you were able to access it.

I only need one or two of you to try it, so if you see that others already have, don't bother (unless they say it resolved the problem).

Thanks,
Repair Cat

Does a separate browser work for your test? Because I:
1. Opened portable Chrome (I use portable Firefox the most, now that Opera uses Chrome code) I don't use non-portable browsers.
2. Copy/paste link
3. logged in
4. See an orange site

I'm going to just list everything I get as I try that.

  • First, attempt to access the URL in a browser that's not the one I'm writing this post in. Result: "Access Denied
You have no access to Folder Chili Palmer's Free Story Annex (http://old.bearchive.com/~chili/). Visit order page to order additional subscriptions."
  • Log out, and then, for the heck of it, log back in first. Result: redirected to http://users.bearchive.com/~chili? which has the following content: "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found"
  • Switch to old.etc.
  • Um.
  • That did it.
  • Refresh your logins everyone, I guess.

---Edit---
Also noticed that any images I had hosted on my bea site for the adventure/forum no longer work... any chance of getting that fixed? Don't really want to use my business site for hosting smut.

If you can identify new URLs for those images, I can update your old episodes to use them.

Thanks dude! As soon as I can track down the links I'll let you know.

@ Sailbot: Thanks for testing. Yes, using a different browser with which you have NOT tried to log into the new BEA homepage is just as good as deleting the cookies from your regular browser. Cookies are browser-specific, and I think you guys got handed bad cookies during earlier login attempts at the new homepage. Since changing browsers fixed your problem, you should be able to delete the cookies in your regular browser and successfully access the Chili page with it.

@ rutheni: Thanks for your effort. "•Switch to old.etc. •Um. •That did it." is kind of vague, but it sort of sounds like it worked. Right?

Allow me to say?

I'm a longtime reader bearAddventure, writing and history.
For example, it was my idea to send Jim and Rick in the magic Kingdom, making them princesses.
http://old.bearchive.com/~addventure/game1/docs/1139/1139773.html

New option - outrageous!  I am very offended.

And in my experience, a lot of readers left.

The fact that non-English readers, like I put in the Google Translation links to the neverending story and read. history, choose and write.

Someone-well, someone not very. Now when I try to put the link - example - http://old.bearchive.com/~chili/ - having difficulty. Me when using the browser and the Google translator throws on the registration page.

So here's how I looks
https://translate.google.ru/translate?hl=ru&sl=en&tl=ru&u=http%3A%2F%2Fold.bearchive.com%2F~addventure%2Fgame1%2Fdocs%2F1139%2F1139773.html&sandbox=1

 Please fix these problems.
With respect.

Alright, I have finally managed to make an account here after a lot of back and forth with the mail not popping up. Seriously, if you force people to make an account just to see what is happening in the addventure plase make it so you can MAKE ONE. Seriously, it took me like a week before this worked.

Regardless, as has already been stated by others, this whole thing has to be fixed ASAP. As I can see, the Addventure is down to quite a little activity and there has been talk about mirroring the site here and there. So yeah, preferrably get rid of the log-in for the place entirely and add some adds without naked boobs and some links to the BE Archive if you have to advertise this place. If you absolutely have to keep the log-in, make sure that people can make one without much hassle as noted above. Most people won't bother trying repeatedly to make one. Seriously, the place positively thrives off of random people making posts and others going "oh that is an interesting idea" and continuing from there.

Repair Cat, thank You for advice (in contest thread) but I still am failing to access Users Gallery.  After a few seconds, I get this (below) notorious signup page, still whit my name on it.  I do the anti-spam and try again, same result. I delete BEA cookies and retry, same again.  I go in whit Opera instead Firefox, same again.
May be, problem is in "Access to 50 pins" ??? If I already have seen 50, no more access?  ??? :o :-\
Can You help? Please?
Please comment--specially if you like, that will encourage me to post more like this. Or of course you may criticise, I shall learn from that.

Captain, I don't know what the "50 pins" means either. It could be 50 pins per day, or 50 pins per lifetime.

No ETA yet that I know of. The site's management is discussing that with Adama the Addventure master, so your question will probably be answered soonest on The Plume board.

Any news on a potential search function for the Addventure? For awhile, using the Google searching still worked while things remained in the Google caches, but they are now emptying and practically no results appear.

I've made two suggestions that if either were implemented would let Google search work again.  We'll have to see what the BEA does.  I have the feeling that if anything is done it won't be this month though.

I've thought about putting together our own search engine, but the BEA server wouldn't have the capacity to run it.  I'd have to figure out some other server to host it...

hmm it appears one can't get to http://www.bearchive.com/~cheviot/index2.html either, and i've tried putting old before the .bearchive.com and the just takes me to the subscription page.
