Stories with Pictures

I've got an idea for something where I want to put screen shots of Text Conversations.   Are there any recommendations for picture hosting places or particular tags?

DeviantArt would be fine, depending on how "out there" the content is. Otherwise The (prohibited O) would be your best bet - you don't need to "host" your images, just stick them in a zip.

I imagine that the OP wants the screenshots to be visible in an addventure episode, in which case I don't think that having them in a zip will work. But Adama is the expert on the best way of embedding links in an episode so that the images are visible.

Something like this appearing inline.  Except for a different episode and not 1341435 (http://old.bearchive.com/~addventure/game1/docs/1341/1341435.html)

As we're only talking about a few small PNGs, I wouldn't mind hosting them on my own web site. I say site, but it's just a small amount of space provided by my ISP, nothing grand, and I haven't really done anything with it for quite a few years.

There isn't really much to be an "expert" about, you just have to remember a few things (these are all things that people have gotten wrong in the past):
  • You must use a properly-formatted HTML <img> tag, not UBB code and not just copying the URL into the episode
  • The URL in the <img> tag must be the full URL for the JPG/PNG/GIF/whatever itself, not a URL for the web page or ZIP file that contains the image
  • The website that hosts the image must allow external linking (almost all sites do, but you sometimes run afoul of ones that don't)
