Hell's Kitchen
« on: April 03, 2013, 05:34:02 PM »
The latest season of Hell's Kitchen features a couple of busty ladies, but far and way the biggest is Nedra.  She is a BBW so if that is not your thing move on.  The latest season is on Hulu and on Fox Tuesday night.

Thanks for the share! I was just coming to see if anyone noticed her as well.

She really is a sight to behold, and they don't shy away from the subject of her curves. Even going so far as to put Chef Ramsay in a room with them and try to make him blush!

Highly recommended to any fans of the larger women.

Kithara and I have watched most of the Hell Kitchen seasons. This year we have noted these 4 unique characteristics about this particular run:

1. Ramsey is obviously favoring the women's team - more than usual.
2. Many of the women are surprisingly blubbery more than in the past, Nedra just happens to be the largest.
3. Kithara a BBW herself finds at least 4 of the women "sloppy fat" and Nedra difficult to watch.
4. This year the challenges and events are much more random and the "prize" is not all that impressive.

In general there is bit more drama and more time spent on attitude and less on cooking, culinary talent or the actual contest.
Many more personal "attacks" and the defense of each person up for elimination all sound as if they were scripted and generic.
At least fewer of them smoke than in years past, or they show it less this time around.

Regardless of ability you will always see one woman in the final grouping on these shows.

In terms of infighting this year I think there has been less than they have shown in years.  I think the biggest problem they have had the last couple of years is there have been no standout chefs.

Another telling thing about his last season is if you look at the rewards given to the groups at the start of each "day".
The losers are left to typically do some manner of menial exaggerated clean-up as "punishment" which one aspect that is a turn-off for me and the way the show in put together.

If you look at the rewards they did this year they all were decidedly "feminine", except for the one time the boys team won.
When they went to a paint ball course. I doubt very much that they had two possible rewards based on the gender of the winner so the whole thing appears deliberate and with heavy bias to the girls team.

Yes, the in fighting is much less this year and that is what makes the few scripted or forced outbursts all the more fake sounding.

It is very interesting to read the biography of Mr. Ramsey. When you learn of his early life and his motivations / paranoia concerning poverty and failure it gives better insight into the image he tries to project.

I had to smile when one winner of the day challenge received a $1000 "shopping spree" at a kitchen supply store. They included a cute piece about her wanting to buy a professional mixer for her mom - but if you listen closely under the narration that follows you can clearly hear her say that she "could only just get two of them" and be out of her budget. Also - she left with one blender and two rather small bags. Not much of a prize.
