Title: BEA FORUM ERRORS (bug reports only)
Post by: **DONOTDELETE** on June 06, 2001, 10:33:00 AM
MilkMan{at}BiggerBreasts.OrgPlease DON'T post opinions, likes or dislikes in this thread.  ONLY bug reports, questions, answers or workarounds concerning specific errors you have encountered in the new BEA Forums software.

The only bug here seams to be you

This Forum can only be better than the old version ! Whatever you think should be changed, can from the admin area. It's just a question about what they will allow or not.

I mistyped the url in the homepage section of my profile. I updated it several times, but it still shows the first one. Help me out.

Yes it is. I don't know what was wrong earlier. I logged out and back in and cleared my cache and history, so it beats me. Maybe it just took a few minutes to update.

When I first come into the Forum, I'm not presented with the option to Login using my preferred browser, Netscape Navigator. This problem is not present in IExploder but I'm not running Mr. Gates software except where required to test.

The same issue does NOT appear using the latest beta of iCab (v.2.5). iCab has the ability to mimic either NN or IE as well as presenting itself (as itself) to a server using "strict" or "loose" HTML 4.0 standards.

Well, I don't have any problem with Netscape use - I use communicator 4.7x or Mozilla occasionally.  I do have the same problem that I had with the first forum though - it crashes my Junkbuster 2.06 win32 GUI proxy - kinda annoying, and this site is the only place it ever happens.
Oh, Cheshire Cat, out of curiosity, are you the same one who's a member of clan Orko?

MilkMan{at}BiggerBreasts.OrgCheshire Cat, I've been hammering the new Forum pretty thoroughly using NAV4.7x exclusively (GO, GO, GADGET BROWSER) and I haven't observed any HTML anacronisms.  Presumably the current UBB software is NOT browser-specific, BICBW.

If you're getting some kind of error when you "first come into the Forum", please could you clarify exactly what?  I'm sorry but I don't understand what "issue" you're referring to in this context.

Actually, it's quite browser specific as well as being platform specific. My first foray was using NN 3.04 on a Mac. The browser component of Netscape Communicator 4.6x & 4.72 is NN 4.08. I have a copy and use it exclusively for e-commerce.

iCab seems to be coming along nicely. I'll be really interested in it when they get Java and 128 bit SSL implemented.

Main page of BEA (http://www.bearchive.com/menu.html) --> Forum hyperlink to the Forum (http://forum.bearchive.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi). Upper left hand corner should present a "Log-in or Register" dialog and it didn't. I use NN 3.04 with images turned off for speed, speed, and MORE SPEED! If you're gonna surf, GO FAST!!

Groblek - it's not very likely. I don't game online.

MilkMan{at}BiggerBreasts.OrgI've been unable to login using my "original" account for over a week, but that's not the worst problem ...

... having sent over a dozen email "bug reports" to [email protected], guess how many I've received a reply to?

I can't get my signature photo to work unless I press forward or back AFTER seeing the post where it doesn't show up.

MilkMan{at}BiggerBreasts.OrgLooks to me that you've linked a file from Geocities?  If so, try uploading your graphic to a different hosting company and hopefully the 'problem will disappear'

It's a real shame that so many free hosting services block access from external webservers.  Thank goodness there are still a few good ones left!

Sometimes the clock is posting PM instead of AM. Has anyone seen the opposite mistake?

Actually, I think this server's clock is just off by half a day or so. The server time for this message should read about 12:10 pm on 6/23/01 (local server time) when I hit the "Reply" button.
