I am getting SO TIRED of links to videos - and nothing at all to suggest what I'm going to see.

So, in case you need a refresher....

WINDOWS:

1. Make sure the window you want to capture is the only one you have open.
2. If a video is playing, stop the video at an appropriate moment.
3. Look for the "Print Screen" key. It's usually abbreviated "PrtSc" or something like that, and can be found to the right of the Function Keys (F1 through F12).
4. Press the "Windows" key and the "Print Screen" key at the same time. Your screen might flicker a bit as the image is being saved.
5. Go look in the "Screenshots" folder in your "Pictures" folder/directory ("This PC > Pictures > Screenshots"). There's your screenshot, saved as a .PNG file!
6. Use whatever image editing software you want to crop out all the extra crap.

There are other ways to select a specific region to "screenshot" if you don't feel like messing around with an image editor.

Presumably, it's just as easy on a Mac or other Apple device.

How to take a screenshot on a computer running Mac OS X:

To take a screenshot of the entire screen:
hold down the Shift key and the Command key simultaneously, then tap the 3 key. You should hear a camera shutter sound immediately after. The screenshot image will be on the Desktop.

To take a screenshot of a section of the screen:
hold down the Shift key and the Command key simultaneously, then tap the 4 key; you will see a crosshairs appear on the screen. Use your mouse or trackpad to position the crosshairs to the upper-left corner of the section of the screen you want to capture, then drag the outline of the section you want to capture while holding down the left-mouse button. When you release the left-mouse button, you should hear a camera shutter sound immediately after. The screenshot image will be on the Desktop. If while dragging you realize that you're about to capture the wrong part of the screen, just press the Esc key to cancel the screenshot.

And if you want to post a clickable link to the YouTube video along with its thumbnail:

1. Copy the YouTube video link from the web browser's address bar, or by moving the mouse pointer to the center of the video playback screen, right-clicking on the video as it's being played, and selecting either "Copy video URL" or "Copy video URL at current time" from the menu that appears. If you do the latter, you should get a URL that looks something like this:

2. Then take that set of alphanumeric characters at the end ("7cq3UDwqTW4" in this case), and do this:
