Geez Hiram, we hardly ever see temps that hot here, either!  Good luck with getting through it ok.

I shall be okay personally - I live just a little north of the really hot parts.  It is still going to be +30C here, but my house is an old stone house with thick walls, and keeps the heat out pretty well.  They say these old houses are crap for efficiency - but imho this house is the most efficient I've ever had. 

Where I used to live in the south - its going to be very unpleasant.  I feel for the old people, they are the ones that are going to suffer.  They are predicting +25C ate night for goodness sake.

I was looking at the picture you posted, and I noticed that France and the Netherlands are quite hot also, relatively speaking.

This brief warm weather has come over from continental Europe due to southerly air flow.  Europe has been having +40C for a while now - wild fires in Portugal, drying rivers in Italy. 

This heat is only going to last a few days, but we are not setup for it at all.   

Well, we are not set up for very cold weather here. Back in January of 2005, we had 5 inches of snow and it got down to 18F and the town was **88**. We have no snowplows, so traffic was totally jammed. What a clusterfuck it was.

Some part of the UK are the same. Snow down there and it is chaos. In the south where I am from it very rarely snowed at all - an inch of snow and there was panic. 

Where I live now we get regular snow, not as bad as our friends Canada, but I often see snowplows going pass my house in the early morning (mainly laying grit and not plowing much snow).  We have not had much snow for the last few years.

27C, feels like 31, right now.  Got up to 30 a little earlier today.  We went to the Calgary Stampede, it was about 35 on the grounds.  Phew!

A contrasting week ahead.   Not as hot up here as in the south - but 32° is still 90°F.
Next Wednesday is going to feel like winter!  ha ha
