At 5:14AM or 0514 hours, it is 71F or 22C with 91% humidity. The forecast high might be 83F or 28C at about 4PM or 1600 hours with mostly sunny skies after two days of rain. We are about 20F below normal for this time of the year.

At 6:40AM or 0640 hours, it is 68F or 20C with 67% humidity. The forecast high should be 87F or 31C at about 4PM or 1600 hours with mostly sunny skies. Another unusually cool day but my power bill appreciates it.  :)

10C.  We've been having rain off and on all day, and it's very overcast as a combination of cloud and smoke.  Low will be 9 with more rain showers overnight.

You Brits are such wimps .... we would consider that a nice Auttum day. ;) ;D Just kidding, I would find the constant rain and cool temperatures you have other there as rather annoying at best, but it would take some fortitude to live there for years. Perhaps that's why you explored out of your islands and later on you had the largest empire ever in human history.  :)

For heat, yeah totally. We're just not used to it.  Having said that some Brits are okay with it, most probably not.  I'm happy either way.  On the other end of the scale I'll be in  shorts until it gets to 10C/50F.

Hard to disagree with that to be honest.  The thing with the UK, due to it being as island, the weather is do changeable.

Perhaps that's why you explored out of your islands and later on you had the largest empire ever in human history.  :)
I've thought this myself.  And being descended from Vikings.

I'm glad you didn't take my comments seriously since I was just joking around. As for weather, the only place I lived at where the weather was good year-round was when I was stationed in Hawaii from November of 1979 to February of 1984. It was always between 75F to 85F year round because of the Latitude Hawaii is located. I do remember one day the temperature was a bone chilling 62F and the locals were wearing sweaters and long pants :o and the tourists from Canada and the Northern United States were wearing shorts and sandals and wondering what is wrong with these people, it is still warm. Another time it got to a boiling 95F and the Hawaiians were melting while those from Arizona, Texas and other South and Southwestern states didn't think it was that hot at all.  ;D Also, at that time most homes there didn't have air conditioners since there is a constant windward wind from the North which kept the islands very hospitable, and people would just open their windows and air out the house. Hawaii is humid but nowhere near as oppressive as the Gulf of Mexico area usually is.  :P

No, not at all.  We (Brits) know our weather is shit, we joke about it ourselves.  That's why we all head off to Spain and Portugal for holidays.

It is like that here in northern England, you'll see people walking the dog in shorts when it is snowing.

Humidity seems to be the kicker with heat. Same with cold, damp cold is awful goes right into your bones.

So today:

Official heatwave criteria will be met for large parts of southern UK this week, with temperatures likely to remain high into the weekend for much of England and Wales.

Temperatures are on the rise for much of the UK, likely peaking on Wednesday and Thursday with 32°C likely across parts of the south and southeast, though there’s an increasing signal for a thundery breakdown for some.

There’s a chance the highest temperature of the year so far of 32.2°C on 10 June could be exceeded this week, most likely in the southeast where one or two places could see 33°C.
