Sadly only one season is all we are going to get, Netflix cancelled it due to ratings. This supernatural show is a bit of a mix of 'Paranormal Activity' and 'Sinister'. The cast is not that well known (although you will recognise them from other things) but they are excellent. Only two episodes in, but I am gripped!

An excellent show I love is Severance, and I hate that I have to wait until July or August of 2023 for the next season.

I also hate the company that hosts it: Apple. It was the first bonafide hit for Apple TV, and the show deserves every accolade it's been given, although I still dislike Apple as a corporation. So if you have a way of seeing this for free, I highly recommend it.

It's considered a Drama, Mystery Thriller, Sci fi. And it really hits home for people who can relate to the banality of office work!

I would completely disagree with calling Severance "the first bonafide hit for Apple TV+".

Ted Lasso was nominated for 20 Primetime Emmys in its premiere season (2020), more than any other freshman series in history. The show won 7 Primetime Emmys including Jason Sudeikis's for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. This year (2022), it was nominated for 20 Primetime Emmys again. It's the most-watched television series on that streaming platform, the first season premiere episode was Apple TV+'s most watched premiere, and the second season of the show increased its viewership by six times over season one.

The Morning Show, now in its third season, was nominated for five Primetime Emmys in its first season (2020), with Billy Crudup winning for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Not to mention For All Mankind, SEE, Dickinson, Mythic Quest, WeCrashed, Central Park...

Ted Lasso will end with Season 3. But that was always the plan.

Series writer and co-star Brett Goldstein told the UK's Sunday Times that the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ comedy was always going to be just three seasons.

"We are writing it like that," said Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent on the show. "It was planned as three. Spoiler alert: everyone dies."

But the fate of the beloved series is ultimately up to co-creators Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt and Bill Lawrence. Sudeikis has hinted that he doesn't know what happens after the third season.

Lawrence told The Hollywood Reporter last year it's up to Sudeikis, who plays the titular character.

"I'd love the show to keep going, but it's only going to keep going as long as [Sudeikis] feels like it's a cool thing for him, not only to do creatively and professionally, but personally," he said. "The cool thing about this is when we started, we plotted out everybody's beginning, middle and end.... I would say that this story is going to be over next year, regardless, even if the show finds another story to tell and goes on."

I'd rather watch Ted Lasso than any of the current World Cup matches, that's for sure.

I know it's not exactly new, but on most versions of netflix you can find 'community' which is still such an amazing show. You'll need to find the real season 2 episode 14 somewhere else though.

So I subscribe to multiple services:  Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Discovery+, Paramount and HBO Max.

One thing that sucks is, my Roku box doesn't concisely present what's new and best from each of these services.
Yes, it has a search feature that searches across each of these services, but that's just a search.
Yes, it will pick & promote something from each one - but often the items promoted aren't new at all.

So I depend on this thread to learn what is actually new & recommendable.

What else is good lately? (Besides Community, Yellowstone, Stutz, Ted Lasso and Stranger Things).

I can only watch Apple TV when I visit my daughter’s place.  I got a bunch of services now and I can’t see spending money on even more. Pity.

I think we’ve got the same number of services.  I’ve got Netflix, Prime, HBOMAX, Hulu, Disney + and Paramount +.  Hulu doesn’t count bc it’s actually my daughter’s service that I (rarely) mooch off. 

I certainly wish there was a better way to discover what’s on all of the services, that’s for sure!  Do you like fantasy?  Been checking out “Willow”, but, like the original movie, the new series kids around a bit too much for my taste and the characters feel like 21st century people placed in a medieval fantasy setting.  I’ll give it a few episodes.  Only on the first one.

There's far too many services to waste money on so I have to be strategic.

I think I have Disney+ as part of my Amazon Prime Video subscription.

I still mooch off of friends' Netflix subscriptions via VPN.

The closest thing we have to a "TV Guide for streaming" are sites like these and these.
