So, he’s created the “fabric” top.  Not sure if you can see how he’s made it look worn.  He’s also added 8 mechanical legs instead of tires or thrusters.  Should be interesting!

Nice work!  I can see the worn spots, look very realistic.  I wish he'd put something in the picture to give a sense of scale, to me it's looking pretty small.

The model does say 1:25 scale, if that’s any help.  I’ll post a pic tomorrow of some objects in the background.  To me it is pretty small, but I think it’s the scale he usually works in.  Looks like the original body might fit across the palms of two hands.

That’s the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car.  When you think of what cars on the street looked like in ‘55, you can appreciate just how forward thinking this concept was. It cost a quarter million to make back in the day which is nearly $3 million dollars in today’s money.

George Barris bought it in the early ‘60s and when they asked him to create a Batmobile for the 1960s series, he used the Futura as the starting point.  I always thought he used the Futura for inspiration, but he apparently actually used the original car.

Yup, he did.  Since I found that out, I've always wished he did what you thought, that it was inspiration only.  It would be great to have them both still exist.
