I thought this looked familiar, so I looked it up.  As you can see from the images below, including a stylist’s clay version, the Pontiac Club de Mer was indeed built as a concept car.

My original source stated it was not put on production and I couldn't find a concept car that was built. I stand corrected as I then realized I misread the paragraph.
