We have a thread on Fantasy Cars and another on Cars I'd Like To Know, but I haven't seen one on Cars that we've actually owned so that's what this thread is about.

These are cars that you have actually owned. The pictures do not have to be of your actual car. Just the same make, model, color, and if possible year.

Let's have a little fun with this. What wheels have you owned?

I'll start things off with the first car I ever bought: a White 1977 Pontiac Firebird.

And yes, this is the actual car. Sorry that the pic is so blurry, it's old and was taken with a crappy camera.

My first car I owned was a 1968 Chevrolet Impala which I bought in 1974 in my Senior year of High School. I had been working during my High School years in an Esso/Exxon service station when gas was $0.23 a gallon back in 1972 and I bought it from the owner/franchisee after his mother passed away for $800.00. I had savings and I paid it in full and then I got the pink slip from him. It had a 327 cubic inch v-8 with 250 horsepower and a two speed powerglide automatic transmission. This photo is what it looked like then, a green two door with a fastback and a black vinyl topped roof. After I joined the Navy back in 1975, I drove it until 1979 when I was transferred to Hawaii and I let my baby brother have it and he kept it until 1982. I have fond memories of that old Detroit dinosaur.

My first car I owned was a 1968 Chevrolet Impala

As used in the TV show Supernatural.  Love that car. I've driven an Impala, just not one that old.

Now this was the first car I ever owned. A graduation gift from my parents that they bought used for about $600 as I recall in 1977. A 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass S. I drove this until I bought the Firebird around 1982 or 83. The catch that held the driver's seat up broke and I had to prop it up with a baseball bat effectively eliminating one seat. We called it "the Old Blue Bomber".

My second car was a 79 Firebird. It looked like the car from The Rockford Files. My dad talked her down to $300. It was at a garage needing a timing chain and the owner didn't want to repair it.

My first car was a 1970 Buick Wildcat, with the 455 ci motor and automatic transmission.  It looked much like the one in the picture, with the black vinyl roof, but the paint job was a custom two tone metallic green/gold.  I bought it from my dad with my earnings as a groundskeeper of an apartment complex.

A list might be easier, haven't had a huge number over the years but most have not been noteworthy.   The last two on the list are my current 2 vehicles.

My 3rd car was a Burgundy 1982 Pontiac Firebird w/ T-tops that I bought used I think in 1986 or 87. There was a problem with the electrical system though so the 1st couple of years she spent a lot of time in the shop. Eventually we got it sorted out but as I grew older I came to realize that Firebird was a bad choice to deal with New England winters so in the early 90s away she went.

This is about as close as I could get to my first car.  It’s a 1976 Honda Civic 4 speed stick with manual choke and a 1200cc inline 4.  Mine was also white, but did not have a roof rack. What looks like fog lights above the bumper are actually the blinkers.

I was stationed in Hawaii from November of 1979 till February of 1984 and in 1981 I bought a 1974 Plymouth Duster which is by far the worst car I've ever owned. I remember I was driving down the Like-Like highway (you pronounce it as Leekee-Leekee) when suddenly the engine seized up due to a catastrophic oil leak and I abandoned it on the highway. I got a ride to a nearby restaurant, called the base and was picked up by the Shore Patrol and taken back to Ford Island back to my barracks. when I was in San Diego , I got a letter from the Highway Department of Hawaii in which they seized the vehicle and junked it. Never had another Chrysler product. My second car.

1974 Plymouth Duster

My sympathies. I bought their follow-up, the Volare, and there was not one single improvement.

But, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Those mopars were still decent engines. It's just that everything else connected to them needed improvement. The entire underbody notwithstanding.

My Fourth Car. A gray 1986 Chevy Nova CL Sedan. Decent gas mileage, handle fine, front-wheel drive to deal with the snowy weather the Nova was a good all-around car that I drove for a good five or six years in the early and mid 90s.

Talking shit cars, I had a Morris Ital, the worse car I have ever owned. It was built by when the British car industry was in steep decline. Actually quite reliable, but it handled like a shopping cart as it had torsion bar front suspension.

Back in 1984, I was stationed at the Point Loma Naval Submarine Base in San Diego, serving aboard the USS McKee (AS-41), which was a submarine tender or a mobile service station for submarines. While stationed there, since San Diego isn't known for its mass transit, I had to buy a vehicle and I got a 1984 S-10 pickup truck, which was the "small" truck of the time, which was equipped with a 2.8 liter V-6 engine with 140 horsepower and it had a small cabin and a two-tone paint job like in this photo. I really liked it.
