It worked (after a few failed attempts - wrong address method - didn't right click).

... use "funtions" in chats

more to be a reminder for myself  ;) - so I don't forget if I should chat again.

{img]-function
{img}insert valid link to image here (*.webp accepted){/img}

{url=http://-function]
{url=valid link to an internet address (example see below)} displayed text goes here{/url}
this is a link to "PunchyAI", (will expire 2026-01-16)

Strange behaviour of access to files stored at imgbb.co
without registration, you can access uploaded files only once e.g. https://ibb.co/Qvkh3Bwp ?!
ErrMsg: "uploading this content requires registration".
Not so with this one:
{url=https://i.ibb.co/1JbpcdKn/Loves-how-big-they-got.gif} published by Bombayduk (see above){/url}
published by Bombayduk (see above)

Why it worked this way - I 'dunno'

1) *.webp -file uploaded to imgbb.com (without registration).
     Received link: https://ibb.co/3gjCDJ7
     inserted here.
2) Click on this link shows the 'Treadmill-Queen'
3) Click 'n' hold -> copy link -> and inserting into the 'image function'
     {img}https://i.ibb.co/nxYLHWb/c-PAI-Treadmill-Queen.webp{/img}
     shows up

Obviously, the imgbb site does not respond nearly as well as the site you are using; my images are very slow to load, if they bother at all.

... use "funtions" in chats (2)

more to be a reminder for myself  ;) - so I don't forget if I should chat again.

Apparently the editor being used in the AJAX Chat is the same as the one being used for posting in the threads. This opens some nice features to format the "Chat Posts" (CP) properly.
Especially referencing can be performed more elegant, than within the CP with the {URL} -button.

Sample: (square brackets [] substituted by curly brackets in bold{} )
{url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berliner_(doughnut) } : Berliner{/url}
creates a link to a preferred cookie during Carnival time in Germany.: Berliner

Since AJAX Chat doesn't provide a {Preview} button, it is a good idea to open a new thread post, and check the outcome there. If everything is o.k. the prompt can be copied and posted in AJAX Chat.
Don't forget to either not save the thread post or delete the post afterwards. Done.

... use "functions" in chats (3)

more to be a reminder for myself  ;) - so I don't forget if I should chat again.

Caution
The "Font Size" function {size=__pt} as supported by the thread editor is not supported by the chat editor. Therefore using this command leads to corrupted chat posts!
So dont use the {size=__pt} function!

Don't forget to either not save the thread post or delete the post afterwards. Done.

... save attached pictures after introduction of the "Bot-Check" nonsense (AKA BS)

1) view attached picture (in my environment: "tap").
2) firefox offers the option to "open graphic in separate tab" (in my environment: "tap 'n' hold'" pic).
3) move to (open) new tab; under firefox you won't see anything in the tab but you can download the file (picture).
4) rename downloaded file (as usual).

... get an animated avatar?

can anybody help?
Due to my own investigations and knowledge, animated files in *.gif or *.webp - formats can be attached to posts, as long as their size doesn't exceed approx. 3 MB. Does a smaller filesize apply for the animated avatars, or has this feature gone like so many others on the BEA? What is the biggest filesize then?
