Might as well ask, since we've got a decent amount of computer knowledge running around here.
It takes f*ing FOREVER for my computer to not just boot up, but get to the point where I can actually do anything with it.
I've already trimmed away as much of the bloatware as I can identify, and have only four Firefox extensions, so I have reason to believe I'm running a pretty lean machine. Yet it STILL takes something like 5-10 MINUTES after I press the "On" button before I'm fully "up and running".
I'm watching Task Manager during all of this, and I see as many as 100 background processes active. They can't ALL be important, can they? I would LOVE to be able to to a "dump" of that list of processes (without having to do screen captures if at all possible) so I can do a bit of research and see what's what with all of them.
Any ideas?
