Animated gifs
« on: May 04, 2025, 06:36:07 PM »
How does one get the animations out of a web page.
I use chrome and they will only save as a web page.
Pictures are not a problem. But opening my browser
to look at the gifs really sucks.

Thanks
She should make one of them stolen home videos.

I would imagine that you need a program such as 'vdownloader' on your computer  , to grab the video/gifs etc ..... I have something on my laptop called 'VideoDownloadHelper' and that does the trick mostly .... Sometimes the people that make these gifs , actively put a 'blocker' on to stop anyone downloading 'their' stuff......There will be a way around even that , but I haven't found it yet .

Since I use chrome I tried several of the
down loaders from the chrome store.
Non worked out.
A lot of websites like this one went to this setup
to save space.

I'll keep trying though.

I was watching one of the man AI clips you can find nowadays. I notice the clip had an added comment .
It said "ezgif.com". Problem solved !

I've tried this:
there are a lot of free (animated) gifs available, e.g. under
https://www.freegifs.de/animierte-gifs/autos/gifs-autos.html (the nice Porsche 911, turning).
Under "Android" you get, amongst other options, the option "safe picture" when tapping on the animated picture (press and hold). In other OS this migt be a "rightclick" on the picture (the animated *. gif file). Chosing this option downloads the animated *.gif, usually into the "Download" folder.

From there you can attach it to your post, as you can see below.

Test environment:
Samsung tablet SM-T555, Android 7.7.1
(I know, everything quite historic  ;) )
Firefox (internet browser).

But can anybody help me, how I can embed pictures from the BEA, e.g. the nice morphs from Captain Nemo? (Thanks Capt'n for allowing me to do so  :)) )
The procedure above didn't work because either I get a *.bin file or a *.php file downloaded, which, when attached to my post doesn't show anything (which I can understand from a technical standpoint of course)?

Hi Sol.
Just follow my recipe!
You will succeed! Maybe some handlings may be different, if you are using another Operating System (like "WinDoof" - usual transcription of "Windows" in Germany for haters  ;D ) , but generally it should work!
I'd really recommend you to use LinuX. With this OS I dare to offer a more detailled support.

If you need any assistance, just PM me.

Cheers, Wol
