OK.  Yes, most presidents, prime ministers, judges, legislators, etc. are men. That, however, does not imply that the world is set up in a way that benefits men who aren't in that rather select set.

On the original question of the topic.

Male best points as far as I can see? NONE.
If it boils down to one more important question, being human again the answer is NONE.

You have no choice in the matter of being born.
You get sent to school for some purpose unknown, possibly to get an education (HA)
You get a job (HA again)
You get married, have [censored] (don't even go there)
Your retire, then you die.

The meaning of life is monotony, same shit different day. I've just simplified it all in a couple of bullet points.

I can see everything so much more clearly when I'm tired, pure aggression, no compromises.

Wow man what a bleak out look on life.
It may be as you say but there is a whole lot of stuff out there that defies monotous daily living. You need a job you enjoy with friends there. Education is there to make you think of ways to break the monotiny and teach you the skills you need to get through life. Wife and [censored] youre lucky you have a woman that loves you enough to put up with you and your ideosyncracies and I think children were invented to make life exciting, frustrating, and they're great comic releif(I'm talking seriously funny stuff like last week my neice somehow got her foot stuck in the toilet.). Retirement and death while inevitable arent what you think. It's up to you how you spend your retirement if you save 20 dollars(or what ever you can budget)a pay-check from now untill you retire you will have a nice chunk of change (43 years to retirement if you're 22 at 20 dollars a week 52 weeks in a year 52x43=2236 52x20=1040 1040x2236=2325440.00)
by retirement you will have two million three hundred twentyfive thousand four hundred forty dollars and zero cents(not counting interest) couple that with SSI and you can live quite comfortably. Now for death I have read somewhere that "To the well organized mind death is but the next greatest adventure." I think this is true but if you don't, think of it as going to bed after a very long day. By the time you reach the end of your natural life your mind and body will need the rest(this of course is barring any trgic accidents).Well thats all I really have to say.

I.P. What you've said has caused me worry in the past, and this post is no different. I think you are a nice guy who is really down on himself because of past failures or whatever.....Anyway I just have to implore you again to change your outlook or please seek help. You cannot go on forever with the attitude you have. If I can help, I will. Just tell me what to do.
Life has so much meaning and it is a terrible shame to fail to recognize that. There is meaning in everything that you do. Love is the answer to many of your problems, but you also have to love yourself. Please get help.

I concure. You should try to look at life diffrently it'll save a lot of anguish and therapy Trust me on this I've done it it takes determination to change your look on life. You need to look into yourself and try for a positive outlook life. sorry it seems like I repeat myself a lot but man you can't let life get you down.

Ok, I don't get it.  You work all your life so you can retire and relax when you're old and lame?  Seems dumb to me.  Plus, in 40 years 2 million dollars will be the price of burgers at McD's ...

I'm not saying you shouldn't save for the future ... just saying you should do what you enjoy now while your knees still bend without cracking ...

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the

end of it? A death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards.

You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alchohol, you party, you get ready for school. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating

...and then finish off as an orgasm!

....rejoicing in the fullness thereof....

What and go thru puberty again backwards?!

Oooohh no-thank-YOU, first time round forwards as bad enough. If I really think about it all, I know this:- that life grows shorter by the hour and if I had a choice it would be the choice of when to die, like for my own personal preference in about 4000 years time, and why is simple, as 60 to 70 years is no way enough.

Think of what happened over the last 2000 years, quite a bit. Empires rise, empires fall, raids from the northlands, plagues, innumerable wars. If you look at history in short it's about survival and dominance. Humans will never change their nature as being descended from apes (a naturally VERY violent and territorial species) this question of behavior is genetic. To change that very nature would be to change the human race beyond recognition (all the imperatives of survival are based on violence, you may kill me but my offspring will continue, I can see the flaw in this primate logic immediatly, why die in the first place or put yourself in a position where you will die, better to live on past all the arguments and say "ha so what, you get to 70 years old and URK! dead, but look at me I'll live much longer than you and see far more").

What I think would change humanity for the better would be to allow a person the time to say when it ends and the longer the better. If you take out the frantic part of life (imminent mortality) then most of the pressure of living is solved right away.

If science ever came up with the means to allow this I'd be the first in the queue.

Shannon. I'm not suicidal, nor homocidal, just angry at the way life keeps having a go.

Sometimes I wish I could go off with the force and brilliance of a supernova, but it's good thing I can't otherwise there would be no planet left.

In truth I'm fraustrated by mortality, in fear of the reaper maybe in 50 to 70 years, maybe sudden death, who knows (though I'm glad I don't to be honest, ignorance is bliss 'tis folly to be wise, and I wouldn't want to know either). I see time passing faster each day and none of it will ever come back, but again I still remember it all as yesterday, clear as crystal, and it always seems so quick.

Given that timeline gOOber, suicides would skyrocket.  If the end is orgasm, people would be offing themselves all the time, thus dying and starting the cycle all over again.  You'd have a world full of horny old people trying to kill themselves so they could get off.
Everyone is always trying to find a loop-hole to crawl through.

Hah, that's pretty good, Goober.  Or alternatively, we could just be 23 years old forever...

Splicer, I don't follow your math.  Saving 20 dollars a week for 43 years would be 20 x 52 x 43 = $44,720.  What am I missing?

On all other points I agree.  Positive attitude works wonders for self esteem.  Start small and work your way up.  Even pretending to be positive will work, because others (for example, good-looking women) will pick up on it and then you get kind of a feedback situation.  It works!  I first tried it in high school, got a great girlfriend, and I've never looked back!

Regarding Shannon's topic... I like not having to bother about clothes and makeup and menstration.  I can dress up and look slick if I want to, or (preferably) I can just throw on a pair of jeans and any old T-shirt.  I like being strong and working out to keep myself in shape - something women can do to a lesser degree but that isn't really equivalent, female bodybuilders excepted.  Walking safely anywhere (except certain neighborhoods) at night is another perk.

In terms of InvisiblePervert's bleak outlook on life...

I'm 25, and have a neurological condition with a suicide rate of around 1 in 3. It's called Asperger's Syndrome...some of you might have heard of it.

The symptoms are numerous, but the main symptom is simply being a freak, in the most literal possible sense of the word. I was lucky to make it through school with my sanity intact, and as it was I didn't end up completing it.

I could go on, but the main thing I want to say to InvisiblePervert is that I think the whole point of Earthly existence is how much we are able to positively influence others.
Yes, day to day life can be monotonous and soul destroying, and possibly is for the vast majority, but what I have as an ideal anywayz is the concept of not only freeing myself from that, but trying to show other people how to do so as well.  I'm not necessarily talking about getting rich here, either. I'm talking about finding extra interests, becoming more artistic, and getting rid of the monotony by force of will if nothing else. Get some posters and put them up in your living environment...also get some plants. Take up cookery or some form of metalwork, even...you'll meet people and feel far less bored, and you'll also possibly be learning valuable skills.

Also, learn to appreciate your senses more. When you eat, pay attention to what you're eating, and devote attention to the sensations...how it feels, *what* you're actually eating, and so on...and do that with lots of other things besides just eating as well.
You'll find that you can come up with all sorts of reasons for living if you really want to.
PS I visited SubGirlie.com not long ago...Awesome site, Sub...you're an inspiration to those of us who aren't quite as bold.

One other thing I forgot, very briefly...the answer to this thread's question. ;-)

The best thing about being male??
The truly unbeatable combination of pizza, Wild Turkey, and Half Life (a rather testosterone filled, but still relatively cerebral, 3D action game.)
'Nuff said.

I'd suggest that you're not tired enough, not so purely aggressive as you think, and you're still compromising.  You're not being nearly hard enough on yourself...
