In the latest RALPH magazine
« on: October 15, 2003, 02:34:50 PM »
NOTE: I apologize if this had been put in before by another Aussie BEarchive forum member, or anyone else for that matter, but I haven't seen it so I thought I'd post it, to give a little extra hope to those- well, heck, to 'all' of us here. I would have posted this a couple of weeks ago but I was having internet problems with my other computer.

In the latest RALPH magazine (a mens magazine, not pornography, but nice pics of women always included) they had a breast special. In the 'Norks from A-Z' part of this special the 'I' entry grabbed my special attention. It is written...

"Implants are now a thing of the past. Almost. Melbourne tissue engineer Kevin Cronin reckons he has come up with a technique that may make it possible for women to grow their own breast tissue. Cronin says he has successfully trialled the technique on rats, mice and rabbits and expects to begin human trials soon. A Nobel prize surely awaits."  RALPH Magazine page 123

I googled "Kevin Cronin breasts" and got these few links..

Again, if this has been posted I apologize, and I'll edit this thread as necessary.

I guess the fantasy of 'Drink Me' or 'Eat Me' may not be much of a fantasy if this all goes well, here's hoping

Fascinating.  This vaguely reminds me of concepts I've been kicking around the Addventure.  In a Nip/Tuck thread that was handed me, I imagined women getting special tissue inserted in their breasts instead of plastic implants, and for a Jim's Oil Barony thread I once talked with Laelia about the breasts acting as gathering places for fat from throughout the body.

DruulEmpire, for your second note (fat collection from the body) just imagine how many women would take that option. I know many people (men and women) are comfortable with their body, whatever it may be like, but if women could transfer the fat from their body into their breasts, how happy would they be that A) They're losing fat and looking slimmer *AND* B) They're gaining some breasticle sizes! Either way, i'm sure at least one of those would make them feel better, and that's why many women get implants, to feel better and more confident. And then speaking for us men, we'd sure like it too!

However, the end result could be hard to control. "We were just so happy at getting the desired tissue to grow at all that we haven't even got around to working out how to control issues such as size and shape."

Although it sounds like a BE fantasy, what this means is "They don't know how to make it look good.". It's probably why it hasn't hit the market yet.

Hello fello Aussie. That really was a cool read. it would be interesting to see how it does end up after a few years of research.

I hate when people use labrats. It pisses me off to no end. That is all I can think of.

Gday Aven, and of course to all at the BEarchive, forum or not! I'm going to keep an ear out for our doctor friend over there in Melbourne, I wish him the best of luck!

Yeah but rats are so damn sexy, especially the ones with large tits.
I could never get worked up like that over a squirrel.

I remember hearing about this "scaffold" thing back in '98 on the news. I wonder if it's the same research group working on the same scaffold. Interesting!
