Went out and bought a new computer, complete with Internet Explorer, to make sure I could see ThanksX3.1 properly.  This despite the fact that you got it fixed so it works with Netscape Navigator just fine.

Anyhow, another fine job done there.

Kind of disappointed not to find myself given any special year end "ass hole of the year" recognition, for my Netscape snivel earlier this year.  Or maybe that was last year, and I already got my medal?

Thanks again,

Huh

lol, you just made me realize that I don't have a single Netscape joke in this entire issue.

Hey, I appreciate it when folks read, regardless of when they complain about something.

And I thank you for reading.

Pacman,

Just read it "cover" to "cover".

GREAT JOB!

As you mentioned, many of us don't appreciate those of you who contribute on your own time and make this little BE world what it is.  I, for one, want to thank you  for all the hard work.  Two big thumbs up on the December issue.
On the columns, humor, interviews, etc.:  if there wasn't so many of them and they weren't written so well, I'd not be a fan.  They are so I am.
A big thanks to Capper as well.  Every issue he's got a great new interview.  I enjoy them and comend him on his great work.

Ok, enough sunshine up your ass.

Keep it up Pac!

Redtalon

An awesome issue, Pac.  Keep writing poetry, too, I laughed my ass off at your rendition of 'Roses are Red'.

Merry Christmas, Pac (and Mrs. Pac) and the happiest of New Years.

Read it, liked it, MORE MORE MORE (if I stick a quarter up your butt can I get free pics? ... hey, you were the one who started it by talking about vending machines and assholes   )

Anyway, one complaint (besides my name not showing up enough.  I spotted it once, but I want MORE MORE MORE ... and I have a roll of quarters ...   ) ... anyway ... you have a broken link *** GASP ***

Yup, on the contents page.  You click on the pic that says, "You're all ugly" ... you know, the boob quotes link thing ... aw come on .. you wrote the page .. you should know ... anyway, it appears to go to:
http://www3.bearchive.com/~pacman//zine/2001-12/content/humor/index.html

when I think you ment it to go to:
http://www3.bearchive.com/~pacman//zine/2001-12/content/humor/quotes/index.html

see, the 'quotes' directory is missing ... and it ruined my whole masterbatory orgy ... sigh ...

Anyway, good magazine, keep up the great .. work .. yah ... and stuff

I happened to have some time to waste tonight, so I took a look. On the whole, not bad at all. Somewhat low-brow, of course, and nothing too cutting-edge, but relatively error-free and only minimally offensive. Being good at it, however, I found some things to gripe and whine about: I felt I had a duty to fulfill.

Or were you being avante-garde?Perhaps you meant for GunBuster's morphs page to be dysfunctional in Netscape? After all, you don't seem to have the thinking man's aversion to Internal Exploder, the world's most costly free tool. But somehow I don't think you expected to hear that I saw... this: ————›

Yes, NutsPlace will show an incorrectly-coded page as it was coded, instead of trying to guess what it's suposed to look like. Rather than relying on FontPhage to break the page in a way IExplode is set up to anticipate, you could try removing all the extraneous bullshit and making the code HTML-compliant. Or maybe you don't mind being a shill for the Evil Empire of Redmond?

Quothe ye Pacman (elsewhere)
To Transponder: A new UBB crying towel to replace the one I gave you last year. It's very obviously been put to good use.

I do have a color scheme to follow, you know.I suppose it's the thought that counts. You won't mind, I hope, if I exchange those for colors I can actually stand, and have the monogramming done myself.

I gather you don't think much of my disdain for UBB; if you knew how to hand-write complex HTML correctly you might see the point. UBB is, like IExploder, a "free" tool written by people with a heavy agenda, and aimed at morons who can't even muster the sense to remove a double-post, let alone embed a series of nested tables. I'm not afraid of command-line apps; I'll take "powerful" over "user-friendly" every time. The only thing UBB is worth to me is laughing at. Because, to put it mildly... it sux.

Had I not just changed my name, I'd be ripping you a huge one right now. You've been around long enough to know why the P is in uppercase. You can fix that... or you can get referred to as "pAckmAnne" for the indefinite future. Your call. Pretty damned inflammatory for a supposed peacemaker.

---------------
I don't have loads of time to waste on silly crap like this...

First off, will check out the linkage problem you mentioned munch.

That-swirly-circly thingie guy:

Thanks, low brow? No way! And minimally offensive? Man I must be slacking again.

And Guns page is dysfunctional in Netscape?
Hmmm..... that's kind of interesting since we're still using the same basic template that Gunbuster himself set up a long time ago. How ironic that it's backfiring on him! To be serious though, I was not aware of this because I only launch netscape under two circumstances: A page crashes IE, or I'm **92** and click the wrong shortcut on my desktop. I never had anything against Netscape until I started getting all those letters about the zine not being compatible. Hell, I used to use Netscape myself. But I straight out switched to IE for two reasons. A: I found that when I viewed pages in IE they looked a lot better. (considering that so many were designed with IE in mind.) B: It's much easier to get people mad by using IE. You use a different freaking browser and all of the sudden people call you things like "a slave to Bill Gates". Uh, I don't think so. I just use whatever the hell works best personally for me. It's not like I use Outlook for crying out loud!

And the UBB thing: it's just a joke. I'm a user friendly guy. We are in two different worlds here. The fact that we even have boobs in common kind of surprises me.

And you're right. I should have used an uppercase P. That was just straight out my bad. (Though Ms. Pac checks those things and may not be as aware of net-names as I am.)

Anyway, thanks all. The staff appreciates it, and I do to.

WOW!  I didn't even realize I made this issue until like 2 minutes ago.  I only posted like 4 topics all year and one of them was good enough (or stupid enough, whichever you prefer haha) to be quoted.  EXCELLENT!  I should post more often.
