Weekend Site Update!

Well it happened late friday night / early saturday morning.

The New Update is in place.

New galleries, New videos, updated galleries, new free areas. etc.. check it out

Also new forum stuff in another post.

Each site will be listed by a banner near the top for FREE or MEMBERS.

Oh yeah one more thing.

The thumbnailing script in some galleries like Pacland, Bonfire, Gouly etc... has been redone.

The new script shows the most recent files uploaded by the Gallery owner on the front page instead of the last.

There is also an option if the owner wants of a first page and last page button/link for insta jumping.

Kudos for the great work of late!

I just wanted to point out a minor snag in that Chronicler's update produces a 404.

Keep up the superb work, but try and get some **82** sometime.

Hmmm thats odd I asked him to check all his links and make sure they were ok and he found them to be ok.

Perhaps i have him linked wrong?

EDIT: Ok was a syntax error on my part. Link is fixed.

I have also removed the members gallery **103** on the FREE page and the user gallery **103** on the MEMBERS page.

User Gallery / Members Gallery look change for continuity.

Also seeing as people insist on massive wordy posts at times there is a 250 character limit to keep posts looking nice and not taking up half the screen.

That should be plenty for any url and comment about said url.

The Forums are for lenghty posts and discussions.

Overall, I'd have to say the facelift looks real good; you're doing a good job. Although I think that the darker blue background of the old pages seemed to make things easier to see. Also, the tighter spacing of the old user gallery made scanning the whole page a bit faster. Hope this is useful feedback; I don't want to come across as being pissy or annoying.

Good idea about the text limits on the galleries. Some of those gallery blurbs got a tad wordy in the past, especially some of the flamish ones.

You might want to tell Sebbo that I wasn't able to get the enter button to work on his story archive. Didn't see an URL href'd in the button definition, on checking page source. As a point of reference, my usual surf machine has Netscape 4.75 on win98 (yes, upgrades are imminent ).

The old usergallery was not limited in its spacing as this new table does so i dont see how it makes it any tighter.

The only thing that is slightly different is that the hr tag for that little line between posts is now on its own line iinstead of on the text line. So that would space it out a little bit more but not by much.

BTW your not being pissy Thats what these posts are about.

On the lighter color. I made the tables a darker bg to be easier to see. If that mid light blud that is the default bg is too light for everyone i can see about droping it down a shade or 2 and still leaving all the other colors the same.

I too use netscape 4.75 and 98, though it is 98 se. I am forced to use IE when doing the html here seeing as it seems to have more problems with things then netscape does and alot of code these days breakes netscape.

Never liked ME. 2000 has software / driver issues still. XP has some REAL bad features...so its 98se for a bit.

Uh, I have a small problem with UG too. For some reason my computer saves every picture I download as a .ART file, and the UG won't let me load those. So...well, could you either allow the UG to accept .ART files, or help me straighten out my computer? Eesh, I'm asunder...

Using AOL? Internet Explorer and AOL came up with that compression scheme much to the dismay of anyone downloading said files. In preferences, select "do not compress image files". I'd get more specific, but it varies with each version of AOL and/or IE combination. In your frustration, if you absolutely must have an image file, save it as a bmp instead. There'll be no unsightly compression artifacts then.
