X,  I think you are right in that overall size does look smaller on the net.  But, I have to admit though I went over to the implantinfo website looking over the doctors there and the their before and after photos of patients.  Holy cow they all looked like misquito bites after being here and seeing Bambi, Melonie, Vixen.  (Please, any ladies reading this don't be offended, I am in the 'misquito bite' catagory.  This is mostly a reference to X's comment about losing perspective)

I bet you would fall over if she walked into your house

I am not sure if I could carry off the exotic dancer facade.  Itsn't there also bit of a confident mindset that goes with that?

It's just so the doctor can cover his ass. They're only worried about making some housewife "Too Big" and ending up in court. If you say you're a dancer, you're handing him his defense on a silver platter. He shouldn't question you.

My only suggestion is to find a doctor that normally caters to dancers. He'll have a lot of practice with the larger implants. Where the normal PS doesn't, and probably won't do as good a job.

To aspiringdd:  Welcome, welcome!

I've certainly heard the stories (some worse than others) regarding doctors who are completely inflexible in what size they'll help you get to.  I've heard that some even have a really bad attitude.  If you meet anyone like this, run, run fast, run far.  You don't want to be spending money on this type of surgeon.

You might want to consider travelling to another city for the surgery.  There's Vixen's surgeon (I forget which city he's in).  Then there's the surgeon in Lake Tahoe.  Both surgeons are quite open to helping you get HUGE.

Probably the biggest limitation in size (once you've got the surgeon you want) will be how much skin you have to cover the implants.  You don't want to end up in a situation where you have these monster implants and the stitches are straining to keep the wound from popping open.  I can imagine some strain, but ....  No doubt the right surgeon will give you great advice in this area.

Something you might want to do is start collecting pics of boobs you like the look of.  Print them out and bring them to the doc and say "I want to look like this".

I don't recall whether anyone has mentioned this, but one reference site is www.implantinfo.com.  Browse the personal experiences if you like.  Pretty informative, and spans quite a wide spectrum.

Even when you've found one good surgeon, see if you can't find one more.  See which one is the better communicator, the better listener, the one more likely to give you the warm fuzzies.  And make sure they've had an established office there for a while (unlike the horror stories of that travelling unlicensed surgeon, what was his name?  Dr. Sanchez or some such?).

Hope some of the above info helps you out.

I have read that implants look at least one cup size smaller than natural breasts. Is that true? Sounds like it from what you are telling me. So I was thinking if I want to look like a D I have to tell the Dr. I want to be a DD when he's done. Does that sound right?

Yes it's definitely true.  And the best thing to tell the plastic surgeon is to make your breasts as large as he possibly can.  That way he's not working towards some specific target size (which he will probably undershoot to make sure that you don't come out too big and possibly complain/sue him) but working from a standpoint of medical safety regarding skin elasticity.  If you happen to come out a DDD instead of a DD, trust me that once you have them and see the reaction that you get you will be extremely happy you erred on the side of too big rather than too small.

Having the doctor work from a stanpoint of skin stretch safety instead of some specific target size was also the underlying point behind my recommendation to pretend that you're an exotic dancer during your consultation.  If the doctor thinks that you are an exotic dancer, he will not be on guard as much about being sued if the size comes out on the large side and will concentrate on the medical aspects of your surgery instead of the legal ones !

HHH is also totally correct about doctors who cater to exotic dancers having more experience with larger implant volumes/cup sizes than plastic surgeons who cater to suburban housewives.  This can be important for a great looking end result with DD or DDD cups, because the suburban housewife's surgeon probably does 99% of his surgeries in the C and D cup size range, and only does the 1% after already trying to talk the housewives out of wanting a size that "big" (or charging the girl twice to put in a set of C cups first and later replacing them with DD cups to achieve the size she wanted in the first place).

Also, how do you stay in such great shape?! I wonder if I could maintain my current workout schedule with much larger implants. I have noticed as I get older staying in the shape I in requires a bit more work on my part.

The "folk tale" that having larger implants somehow restricts your ability to work out simply isn't true (I suspect it was cooked up by plastic surgeons to convince patients to choose smaller implants or pay for 2 surgeries instead of one).

All you need to work out comfortably is a good sports bra (or if you get to my size range, two sports bras worn at the same time).  Overfilling the implants beyond their normal cc rating also helps eliminate discomfort when working out, because the extra saline solution tends to firm up the implants a little so it's easier for the sports bra to "keep them under control" (not to mention overfilled implants looking younger and perkier too).

Even though my implants are in the 3600cc range, I can still do aerobics, lift weights, do 5 miles on a treadmill, do a complete TotalGym workout, do basically anything I want to do.  The ONLY restriction which I have ever run into is riding horses or doing road work/treadmill where the rate at which I'm riding or running exactly equals the natural "bounce rate" of my boobs !  When this happens, my boobs start bouncing higher and higher and will actually start to slap me in the chin after a few seconds, but all I have to do is change the speed slightly and they settle right down again !

and Xmark, here's my secret for firm buns - biking while standing up ...

and the secret for legs is the TotalGym ...

... but some exercises require a lot of free upper body movement, and it's actually easier to do these without being restricted by a sports bra (especially if you've worked up a major sweat by that point in the workout).

Well I am not a married man. I just happen to be on the wrong continent with gallons and gallons of salty water between me and some tasty ladies with big boobies.

And yes I could swim it but I doubt I can swim non stop for weeks on end.

Hey aspiringDD,

If you ever wanna talk to my wife about BA surgery, I'm sure she'd oblige (she's Tracy). Trust Melonie, she was a great help with Tracy's BA and is very knowledgable about the situation. You may think that these implant sizes are huge, but trust me, you will get used to them VERY quickly. The first couple of days we were both in AWE of how big Tracy's breasts looked. Now we still LOVE them, it was a wise choice, but she already wouldn't mind being a couple of cupsizes bigger. I guess its a personal opinion of what looks good on your frame but you will get very used to them quickly.
LOL Melonie, you SAID Tracy wouldnt look like a stick with huge boobs with 1000+ cc's and she FINALLY agrees with you on it. She wasnt sure at first, went big but not that big,  but looks like in a few years she may UPGRADE to over 1,000 cc's. So aspiringdd, LISTEN to Melonie, she knows what she's talking about!!!!

Yes, I was hot - as in sweating my butt off by the time my workout was over LOL.  Thanks for the compliment, but those were 'clinical' pictures meant to show AspiringDD that bigger boobs don't affect the ability to work out.

Hi Fuzzy,  Hey, now thats an idea!  You are probably right.  I might run into a problem because I bet the doctor might not be able to get his eyes off of Melonie long enough to focus on my size request  I bet he would be spell bound by her.

Mr. HHH,  I guess that could be the Drs. concern.  Funny how they are more concerned about being dragged into court over making a woman too big but not over making her too small.  Kind of inconsisitent don't you think?  Especially since the majority of women, I've been told, complain about being too small.

I agree that finding a surgeon who normally caters to dancers would be a huge bonus.  I have already found at least one doctor, who I was interested in seeing for a consult, does not like to do what he calls 'too large implants'  That doctor is no longer a choice for me.

Hi MasterDragonfly,  Thank you for the welcome.  Nice to meet you.  I am not opposed to travel to another city, that is always an option.  I will probably start by email  several surgeons, including the two you suggested.

In regards to skin stretching I think I should have no trouble with getting to a D.  I can go into the gory details on that if anyone is interested (prolly not though )  And I have started quite a collection of sizes I want.  Problem with that is since having been here my perspective and decisions have change a bit, in the direction of larger being better.

I do think it will be important to not go with the first Dr I find, just for my peace of mind sake.  Good advice.  Thank you for your help and suggestions.
