Naw, Strider, I hadn't seen your pic, you were right, she's not small. But she IS smaller! And that ain't right! I have the entire limited edition action figure set and - buddy, she ain't no D cup! But you are right, she's not as small as I thought she was. Still... ~whimpers~ why can't she be HUGE?

Flash ~He could be my friend if he wasn't my enemy~ Bigger

Well, there's another point I just thought of.  Remember, back when FFVII was done, all the characters were done Anime style.  Meaning that certain proportions were exaggerated.  So since the characters in Advent Children are Realistic looking and could pass for real people, their proportions have to be realistic as well.  Clouds hair, even though still spikey, doesn't look 3 feet tall as it once did.

Anime art has always had weird measurements and the porportioning has always been off in comparison.  Look at Eiken for example. The youngest girl who easily has breasts the size of Chelsea Charms is only measured at 111cm.  Chances are, if those characters were brought into a realistic look too (like AC), they'd shirk drastically too.

Plus, the realistic propotioning shows on other characters in Advent Children.  Even though he was only shown in the trailer for a few seconds, Barret's no longer the size of a stationwagon.  He looks like he's buildt like the WWE wrestler Farouq.

So in short, when placed in realistic setting, a d-cup is very small to a BEA member.

Hey, who knows, maybe if people write into Square Enix of japan complaining that Tifa's breasts are too small, they'll change it.  Hey, they changed that pixar cartoon "Nik Naks" because the girl's boobs were deemed "too big", and that was a finished product.  Advent Children is still under development.  Go on, email them alreay!

How /do/ you sprite edit anyways?  I've been cofused by this Mugen thing for a while now O_o

Sprite Editing by Strider:  I take a sprite from a game, open it in MSpaint (that crappy paint program that comes with like every version of windows) and edit the character Pixel by Pixel until it look like who I want.  I then paste them into Animation Shop 3 to save them as Gifs.  I also use AS3 if I want to make an animated sprite (much like MissRyokoChievous, D_U_S_K and Anime/BE Tiger's avatars).

Mugen Explained by Strider:  Mugen is a program the allows a person to make their own 2D fighting game.  Nearly every character that has exsisted in the 2D fighting realm has been converted by fans to be used in MUGEN.  Now what I am doing, is editing a 2D version of Tifa to be played on MUGEN. Though Mugen is mainly a Linux Program, people have hacked it to be used on Windows.  Though the program takes a lot of time and patients when created or making a new character (much like sprite editing does).

Speaking of MUGEN, Strider, I've tried to download that a few times but whenever I see a MUGEN fansite or whatnot telling me how to get it, it's always a link to a site that has been down. Is there anywhere else to get it?

its tedius yes, but if you are into digital art at all you would be suprised at how easy it is to paint that small, i find it much easier then higher rez pictures, espicial for animting.
But it is time consuming,  im gonan try out that program you mentioned strider, ive been using image ready and PS mainly and i find the tools are far to complicted for sprite editing and often get in the way i just got into sprites not long ago and its alot of fun

After seeing a picture of how Cloud is going to look in this "Advent Children" thing, I only have one question...

...what is up with the general anime fascination with androgynous people?!

To be on topic, I like how they've modelled Aeris. Or Aerith. Whatever. Tifa looks nice too.

And as a post-note, I've always been impressed with your sprite editing, Strider. Keep up the good work.

Cheers, Mike

Last I heard, it was because that's how Japanese women like their men. *shrug* Just what I heard.

Go to  Mugen Fighters Guild . Their message board gives plenty of info on the program and finding it.  Plus gives a good deal of info on programing Characters, Sprite Editing, and so forth.  Hope this helps.

Yup, one of the figures in the movie had torpedo shaped breasts.  Someone complained that they were too big and "sending a bad message to kids" so they changed it.  What sucked was instead of making the figure have smaller boobs, they made her flat.  Their was a message board discussion on this a while ago.

And thing was, "Nik Naks" was already finished and they went back and changed it.

As I was saying before, Advent Children is still in development.  So there are changes being made as we speak.  If people email Square Enix with complaints, they may make changes that'll make people happy.

Yeah changes of THIS nature are possible, but not probable. Square took a lot of heat for giving Tifa big boobs the first time around. It's possible that this area of realism is an attempt to atone to the five bitter parents who said, "GASP! Women can't have breasts that large! It's inHUMAN!!"
Well people. If breasts that large are inhuman, I don't want to have anything to do with humanity!

You couldn't be more correct.  My ex was very much into Japanese rock stars, and most of them looked very Fem.

And one of the bigger J-rock stars, Gackt, seems to be the base for alot of the FF main heroes as of late.  Squall, Tidus, and even Clouds new look were said to be modeled after him.

Gakt... wasn't that the gooey playdo thing for kids?

anyway, like i care about the male characters. it's all about the "inhumanly" breasted female characters we all pay attention to anyway!
