France-bashers.
Stupid people (Not ignorant people - there's a difference. Ignorant people know they are ignorant, and want to learn. Stupid people don't want to learn.)
Corporate crooks
Cell phone abusers
Luxury SUVs

That's about it. I find it's too much effort to get angry about most things.

Whether it's:

1) Marxists
2) radical feminists
3) militant gays
4) fundamentalist Christians
5) Freudians

I am sick to fucking death of people imposing their narrow views of life on the rest of us. I don't have a problem with anyone being a member of any of the categories above. Membership in any of the above groups is not what I'm objecting to. It's the strident militancy that members of each of these groups live with and go around IMPOSING ON EVERYONE ELSE that really PISSES ME OFF.

I don't care if it's a radical feminist who uses the word "patriarchy" in every other sentence, some jerkoff Freudian who thinks Freud was God, or Marxists (all twelve of you) who think Marx was God. I don't care if it's a fundamentalist (of whatever religion) who goes around condemning everyone of any other faith to HELL. And I don't care if it's some insecure gay who sees a "gay subtext" in every movie he sees. I just wish all of you would DIE. DIE, DIE, DIE, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Sorry, Forum, but I'm really wound-up about it today. I think I need a couple of Advil.

I couldn't have said it better myself, FCF, I am truly impressed with what you wrote.  That is indeed a really apt and good description of the basic root of all hatred.

Live and let live, or live and let die...but "laissez-faire" attitudes shoujld prevail.  To each their own, and all that!

Cheers

I don't know about Australian slang, but to me, an Australian accent is one of the few mannerisms of speech that I particularly enjoy listening to.  I've told this to a couple of Australians, only to be surprised when they said the same thing about my accent (and I'm thinking to myself: what accent?).

Given how many American tourists I've run into who've said the same thing/similar thing, I'm not surprised.

Though it gets annoying when an American chick gets **92** with you at some bar/tavern and then keeps bugging you to "say something" for her amusement.

In my senior year of high school I dated an Aussie girl who transferred in, and since then I've been pretty partial to the accent.

Formal British, I can generally handle, but Cockney British, on  the other hand, is like what Stewie from _Family Guy_ said, "You don't so much as speak the language as chew it up and spit it out."

People like this:

Daily KOS, Aug. 26, 2013: "Anti-vaccine megachurch hit with measles epidemic, now offering free vaccinations"

"An outbreak of the measles at Kenneth Copeland's Texas megachurch has gotten some attention because (1) measles is something chi1dren are generally vaccinated for, these days and (2) Kenneth Copeland is, of course, an anti-vaccine crackpot. In what seems to be yet another bitterly ironic attempt by God to teach noisy religious fundamentalists what-for, the church has thus become the epicenter of a small but worrisome outbreak that has so far infected 10 and resulted in the Department of State Health Services issuing an alert spanning North Texas.

That has megachurch pastors doing a bit of fancy dancin', with Pastor Terri Pearson (Copeland's daughter) walking back their leader's anti-vaccination stance to explain to the congregation that no, God does not really want your children to contract a potentially dangerous disease that vaccinations have all but licked because duh..."

G_I_John started this thread by asking what five things would we want wiped off the earth.

Perhaps as we get older, we develop more tolerance. Or not.

Remember when the Internet was young and we couldn't use hyphens, so we had to use those idiotic underscores?

I don't want to get rid of anything, but there are a few things I would like to change. A way upstream someone mentioned the difference between stupid people and ignorant people. I wish so many Americans would quit worshiping stupid people and electing them to office. In that case Joni Ernst could go back to collecting farm subsidies and lying about her childhood.

I wish we could share memories. Some of us are old enough to remember when there were very few innoculations, and kids our ages died or were crippled by diseases that can now be easily prevented with an innoculation. Nobody over 60 has any doubts about their value. And after we share that one, we can share a few thousand of Ron Jeremy's memories.

And regarding religion, they lost me with the talking snake.
