There is a one-off documentary on Channel 4 11/08/04 21:00 GMT called 'My breasts are too big', here is a review...
It may sound like a bad Swedish sex comedy, but this is a serious film about the impact of having very large breasts. After years of backache and misery, Rebecca Reynolds has had enough of having - as she puts it - "cow's udders". While boyfriend Danny reacts to her decision to have a reduction with heroic stoicism ("You don't really notice how big they are until they're . . . unleashed," he says), her unsubtle male colleagues surprise her with a "Goodbye Boobs" party, complete with breast-shaped cakes.
We meet two other women who have decided to have similar procedures (and be warned - the surgery scenes require a strong stomach). Lindie Gunston is all giggles and blushes, but teenager Holly Algar's profound sense of shame may be symptomatic of a deeper problem.
This is an involving film that manages - however inadvertently - to challenge the tabloid-led belief that big is beautiful.
Also straight after this is the series Nip/Tuck on terrestrial for those that haven't got Sky or missed some of it. Do a search in the forums for it to find out more.
I hope to record the documentary on my PC, I'm guessing people will be wanting caps?
