I'm listening to Roy Buchanan - makes me wonder - who's the best guitarist?

Depends, I guess on lots of factors, like style and music, but there a a few that stand out.  

What's the word - subjective.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is one I like, but then I like Angus Young from ACDC just as much, but quite a different style.

Steve Vai is easily the most skilled guitarist alive but, obviously, this is a subjective argument.

Other favorites include: Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Chris Brooks, John Petrucci...I could go on for a while.

Another possiblity, Joe Perry of Aerosmith! (came to mind because he and Steven Tyler are big fans of Jerry Cantrell! ).

Oh, and Sadistyk, thanks for the Zakk Wylde mention.  Forgot about him, and he's a Jersey guy!

(Real name Jeff Wiedlandt, Jersey City, NJ.  Current lead guitarist for Ozzy Osborne.  Also has his own band, Black Label Society, which is often on the Ozzfest tour!)
