So, you're into spreading trojan horses, mother fucker!
Entering www.hooters.dk I got a virus alert regarding
a trojan called JS.Exception.Exploit.
I was already irritated with all your shitty advertsements
popping up with no end in sight.
I hope Imaginos locks you out of this community.
I will inform him on this issue.

Kanodin - I do not think we will return to Dalnet - the new service is just plain and simple awesome

wellton - If you updated your probably 'stolen' antivirus software, to something a little more up to date, then you would not have this problem, and I hope you feel as stupid as we all know you are.

Don't you dare accuse me of deliberately installing a Trojan on any system without knowing the real facts, and your own fucked up system.

Plain insults will get you nowhere Scotty!
By the way, I'm one of those few that pays for
all the software I use. I'm a computer professional
and I don't dare to use unlicensed software that
could jeopardize my business. So please keep that
kind of remarks to your self and out of this forum!
My virus protection was updated and stopped the
attac, but the trojan script sholdn't never have
been there, should it?

Please keep the discussions on an adult level in
the future.

I believe that all of us gallery owners here at
Bearchive think the same thing about this matter.
I know Imaginos does anyway.

I deleted the topic in offtopic because it became too inflamatory.

Please try to discuss these things in an adult and rational manner people.

Calling each other names will not get anything solved. Obviously whatever software Wellton is using found an issue and if its up to date then there is something going on.

Sometimes the fights that go on here give me a real headache.

The Js-exception fault occurs in various pop-up ads. It is so widespread, and largely unknown where it could appear next. Then, there's the strange twist of fate...no one else has had this happen. In fact, I haven't gotten the fault warning message that happens when it is detected.

The fact that you got angry, despite your claims of being a computer expert are like any usual person who finds comfort in their own infallibility. Think carefully before starting such ego-driven persuits online, and in real life. I have been on scotty's site many times.....no virus. In fact numerous people can vouch for the site. Could it be, that with all your knowledge, there was ANOTHER place it could have come from? Maybe you shouldn't be using a company computer to download pronography, let alone view it, but aren't you aware that browsing pron sites puts ad-bots and registry keys in your computer. Well, you would have, had you used ad-aware (an unliscensed program) you would have known that browsing pornography using an office computer is not smart.

No, I think you're trying to raise hell using some strange sense that you're the hero, and you've been wronged in some way, but frankly...I think you're some 16 year old trying to raise trouble, or just another person who needs to re-evaluate reality.

Scotty has not willingly, maliciously created a trojan to put on your computer. In fact his site has been around longer than you've been on this forum. So his credibility has not come into question, however you have popped out of nowhere with the sole purpose of starting trouble. So, who are you?

Now, scotty has always been emotional in his responses to people like you, who seem to make blatant accusations and orders, but you taking the "high" road....focusing on immaturity...overinflated sense of right and wrong...not knowing about the sketchy nature of the internet...

Come back here when you reach your 18th birthday.

J- samba!
I will remove the stick out of the world's ass.

wellton - you ask me not to insult you - I don't - I am simply stating the facts here. The insult was on your account, when you blurted out in this forum that I had Trojan's on my site. If you were a 'computer professional' (whatever that is??) like you claim, you would have asked me in private, if it could be true that there was something there, and we could have figured out that it was not the case. The simple fact that you post here in public without any second opinions or proof just shows your NOT a computer professional.
Your not very clever either - telling me I insult you. What is it you call your first post in this post ?
In reply to:

So, you're into spreading Trojan horses, mother fucker!

If that's not an insult against my person I don't know what is. I just tried to tell you, that your software has a BUG. Deal with it. And in the future - ask in private before you go bashing people in the public.
For your information, there is no Trojan - do you actually know what a Trojan is ? Your talking about a Trojan script ? There is none. There is a popup, that leads to a page, that pops another popup. The last popup is not hosted on my server, neither is the first.  But your a 'computer professional' right, so you knew this right ?

Ok here is the actual code:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="**10**">
<!-- code alteration equals non-payment
window.open('http://php.offshoreclicks.com/imps.php?affiliate=hooterscotty&l='+location,'ocimp','toolbar=1,location=1,status=1,menubar=1,scrollbars=1,resizable=1');
if (window.focus) {window.focus();}
// -->
</SCRIPT>

Please tell me where the Trojan is in this code - I would really like to know. This is the actual code hosted on the FrontPage of Hooters.

In reply to:

Please keep the discussions on an adult level in the future.

Are you kidding me dude ?
In reply to:

So, you're into spreading Trojan horses, mother fucker!

How about you live up to that statement fist yourself before you correct other people.

Besides, I made a post here about an IRC channel, and do not understand WTF my site has to do with this issue or why you wanted to start trouble in here. But believe one thing - I am not giving in on a moron who claims to be a computer professional - LOL. You have no idea what that is anyway. And if you are a professional - then what is it your profession within computers is ? I would really like to know on what level you can claim to call yourself that, yet be so ignorant in the ways of the internet and how it all works.

Imaginos - You think the post got became too inflammatory ? I didn't even read the replies - cuz it was gone before I had the chance. But if that was too inflammatory, what do you call his sentence
In reply to:

So, you're into spreading Trojan horses, mother fucker!

?? That is nowhere in the neighborhood of being polite or adult. Anyway, I am sorry they give you a headache, but I think I should have a chance to defend myself against personal attacks from people who thinks they know it all, but in fact could not be more wrong.

And your statement here really surprises me:
In reply to:

Obviously whatever software Wellton is using found an issue and if its up to date then there is something going on.

So, your saying that cuz one peace of software detects a **10** like a possible Virus (witch you can read a lot of them so, if you care to look it up), that there is something there ???? Enlighten me please - how did you ever come up with that conclusion ? The only actual problem going on, is that some antivirus programs fails to see the **10** as it is, and thinks it's something else than it really is.

I rest my case - it's simply not worth it. Look it up in my Forum - I guess there are at least 30 posts regarding this issue - and they all came out with the software failing in the end.

Come on Scotty, you know that most of us love you.  So why don't you leave the dirty work to us natives.  Besides, with weird posts like the one you're responding to you are not only debasing yourself to bickering, but also making this thread into an "Off-Topic" discussion.  When these things happen, our words either get a friendly reminder from moderators, or they get unceremoniously deleted.  Scotty, no offfense, but there is plenty of room to share your feelings in that "Testing" category.

I do not believe I am the one making this thread into an off topic...

Like I wrote - I rest my case. It's not worth the fight. I'd rather surf pr0n

Ok!
We'll leave it at that.
Just for your info:
The Antivirus software is Norton AV 2002 Pro, fully updated.
It warned about this "JS.Exception.Exploit." which is a trojan.
If you like you can read more about it at:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/js.exception.exploit.html

The reason I posted the first message in public was:
My main concern was to warn the people that use Bearchive
of the possibility of a Trojan. I have a lot of personal
experience from my profession how much trouble this kind of
thing can cause and how much it can cost in the end.
This is why I get concerned when things like this are
spread oven the Internet.
Maybee the "mother fucker" part was out of line.
That is maybee for the readers to judge.

Why did I post it "off topic"?
I wanted to post it where as many people as possible could
read the warning.

So, go on making your site a good one. But please consider
shutting down a few of the popups.

By the way, a computer professional is, at least to my
knowledge, a person who is working with say installations
i.e. not being an end user.

I personally consider the "mother fucker part" to be inflamatory. The other thread in my opinion was much worse and getting more worse by the post.

The only reason I have not deleted this thread was that some things seem to be getting solved here even if people are being somewhat hostile to each other.

Please STOP being hostile to each other.

Either way congrats on a new chatroom Scotty and the code you use.
Wellton congrats on trying to be helpful to the community at large.

Sheesh

wellton - You do not have the latest Norton Antivirus then do you ? The latest version to my best knowledge is 2002 - V8.00.58. Maybe you should use the live update. I did, and I had no problems. Never had - never will. I think the problem on your system is your browser. Still running version 5 ?

Cuz you see, it's not really a Trojan - JS.Exception.Exploit is an exploit which allows unpatched systems to run arbitrary code if a Java applet that was programmed to take advantage of the exploit is allowed to run (Please guys, do take a goooooood look at this sentence - it says: IF!! ).

Only problem is, there is nothing to be run, no Applet to take advantage - just an open system in your end, and your antivirus software caught that failure (good for you). So there is only one thing for you to do I guess - try   updating your browser...so your system is patched, and not full of security holes

In my world, it's called a Computer Specialist, not a professional - but what do I know...I only worked with this for 9 years now, 4 at a Web Developer company, 5 at 3 ISP's in the tech department, where one task was business customer support on their dialup and OS and installations. I was only adult webmaster for 8 years - I do not know what my sponsors do (duh) - yeah, I am lost

Imaginos - thanks for the comment - I am sure people using the new network can feel the difference a lot from when they used Dalnet. Network is open for everyone, and your more than welcome to get your channel, or a sister channel up running at UICN. It's as simple as choosing a new server to log onto.
