I notice that a lot of the choices for "underrated" models are models who are no longer currently active (e.g Nicole Reed). Is this a case of "out of sight, out of mind"? Or are we biased towards the "Hot New Model!"?

In mention of Nicole Reed, no, she did'nt have implants, i know because i played with them once while she was featuring in Seattle. She soon retired changing her name to Christie Darling, for the last part of her carrer i heard she married of all things a plastic surgeon. God she had great eyes, second only to Fawn Miller who had the best fuck me eyes ever. Later.

I suppose they're not technically busty stars as such (although busty) but two Score models from the past have always stuck in my mind - Karen Wellington and CJ. Karen did IIRC 4 sets in about 1999 or so and I guess was probably more just pretty than busty (DD or so). But CJ (2002/3 or so) had an astounding pair of naturals. Great shame she was never heard from again after 2 or 3 shoots...

Yes, no question about it. Some manage to stay in the breast-fixated consciousness (Roberta Pedon for instance), but others just seem to fade away. Very sad.

She doesn't do mags or feature dance, but she does appear at conventions like Glamourcon, VAMP and IronMan Fitness in the LA Area. Her Trainer says she is trying to make it in film and TV and HOPEFULLY will give the BEA admirers a "star" in a mainstream production. In the words of Capt. Picard...

GizmoWidget, I have to agree with you on those three; since we are both veterans of a certain age, though, I want to discuss a peculiar theory from the 1970s. I call it "The Michelle Geller Phenomenon".

In case it isn't obvious, from 1973 to 1982 I worked with a support service for the porn industry. Then things were not nearly so well organized as they are now; it was a "catch-as-catch-can" business dominated by a single company, American Art Enterprises in Chatsworth, California.

In 1973 or 74 a photographer in San Francisco gave a lecture at UC Berkeley to a graphic arts class. His topic was something "real world", like how to make a living taking pictures and still be an artist.

There was a young lady in attendance who chatted with him after the lecture; they went for coffee. They flirted. They went to a motel in San Jose. (Note to self: Find out if dating still works that way. Gawd, I miss the '70s!) They spent the weekend, he ran off a couple of rolls of film (All b&w, as I recall.) They parted sweetly. As an afterthought, he sent the film to AAE. It went thru the editorial process (two months). AAE sold it to a magazine (Gent, I think-- another four months). The magazine ran the pictures and got a big positive reader response (another month).

So seven months later, the magazine editor calls AAE and asks for more. AAE calls the photographer. Oooopps! He didn't have her address or phone number! He never did find her again...

One of the "industrial" things AAE did with their "choice" models like Roberta Pedon, Darlene English, Suzanne Pritchard, and Sylvia McFarland was to jam a whole bunch of sessions into about three months, then trickle the pictures out over the next ten years, so they had a backlog of material in case the model "vanished".

So my candidates for "most underrated" would be girls who weren't part of that system: Geller (although kinda droopy); Wanda Adams (discussed in other threads; I only have two pics of her; Palomine has three others); a black model named Clorese (who had two "careers": one as a very young slim & stacked model; and another after she had a baby by the photographer or her "manager", as a huuuuge breasted model); and a short, sweet Jewish girl known as "Marge" who only had one spread in one knock-off magazine.

How are those for obscure?

And among contemporaries? Don't know; the "Score look" so dominates production... If I had to pick, how about Sammie Black?

I mentioned Pauline Hickey earlier in this thread, and I'll stand by that, but add, after a bit of thought, Joan Brinkman and "Sydney Hearthstone" aka "Ruta Davis" aka "???".

Joan Brinkman had a combination of face and figure almost unmatched, with arguably the greatest *eyes* ever seen on a figure model.  And while serious collectors avidly accumulate photos of her, she seems to go largely unrecognized today.

Sydney Hearthstone, on the other hand, truly *is* a "one hit wonder", appearing just a couple of times in Fling, under two different names, and then, seemingly, never again.
