Robin, you make some relevant and interesting points. But you possibly misunderstand me...
I would suggest that a go-forward thread should incorporate and acknowledge her challenges and the strengths demonstrated by her, by her continuing to move ahead as she has. In no way did I mean to ignore or suppress the complete realities of what she has undergone (I recognize that such would be a form of disrespect).
If one might concede that a life-changing event can be perceived as a delineating milestone, then you might agree that this was/is a kind of inflection point. I'm not thinking that we should ignore or minimize anything.
The core of my suggestion was simply a segregation of the media and material around that inflection point, so as to perhaps naturally lead to a focus on the positive points in each "era", if you will. Mixing them, to me, just creates an undercurrent of a sense of loss, that I don't think she deserves.
I mean this with the utmost of respect.
I can understand that others might have a different take on this. My suggestion was just based on my impressions on how I would want to view what's gone on here, focusing on the best elements and, while not ignoring them, also not dwelling too much on the negative.
Hope I'm not overanalyzing too much here. Just trying to maximize the good out of a difficult scenario, especially for a model and personality that so many of us have adored over the years.
