What sort of bugs are we talking about exactly?

Only because it was queried. Um, bugs; like clipping, NPCs walking around lifelike but then you come back and they're just standing there doing nothing. Technical bugs to do with graphics; if you just have console enabled you can see all the error messages that they didn't clean up (missing texture or unplayed sound). It drops to the desktop now and again, not too frequent but it does happen (maybe once every 6 hours of play?). The cutscenes are satisfactory but rough around the edges; ooh ooh and the camera angles sometimes, blimey.

Don't get me wrong! Great/Good game! But, they must have been pressed to get it out with HL2 or were running out of time/funding; they just needed 3 more months to polish it off to perfection. Unless you're into this sorta game, wait until it's in that half price or reduced bundle at your games store; but if you DO like this sort of thing, get it now, it's good.

There's an odd sound bug where a specific response from a character will cause the game to CTD. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and downloaded the patch, and I haven't had a problem since.

There are also times when the camera is positioned incorrectly and characters move in cinematics in a way they weren't meant to. It also seems to skip and "lag" in a way as you move, especially during larger levels like Santa Monica and Downtown, and sometimes during combat.

Still, I personally enjoyed the game. Keeps me busy when I have nothing else to do.

I know this is probably a massive act of thread necromancy, but I was wondering if I could get some help.  I can't seem to get either of the BE techniques for this game to work, because I can't seem to get the console to pop up in the game.  I hit the tilde(~) key, but nothing happens.  Any suggestions?  I really want to try this out, so any information would be a major help.

Thanks.

edit the shortcut so it has -console on the end of the path to the executable.

Er... could you spell that out for me in laymans terms?  I'm afraid I'm not the most computer-savvy person in the world.  *looks sheepish*

I already tried following the instructions posted by EvilSandwich, but as I already stated, they don't seem to work because I can't get the console to pop up in the game when I hit the tilde key.

Just another question: does downloading the patch for the game disable this function?  I'm just wondering.

I really want to get this trick to work, but I've tried everything I can think of (though as I've said, I'm not the most computer-savvy person in the world) and nothing happens.  I'm kind of at my wits end here.  Any suggestions as to what might be wrong would be most helpful.

nope, downloading actually makes the game better it runs more smoothly, meaning the breast growth is less choppy.

Damn.  Then why the heck won't the code work?  I followed EvilSandwich's instructions to the letter, including modifying the shortcut, but nothing happens in-game when I hit the tilde key.  I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong at this point.

You need to show us what your doing to the short cut. To do that get it up on the computer screen and press print screen, this will take a screen shot of your monitor (it won't try and print it to do that you have to press ctrl+print screen). Then open up paint and press paste. That way we can see what your doing and any mistakes you may be making.

Okay, here's what I'm doing.  First, I open the start menu on my desktop, and locate the shortcut for the game.  Then, I right-click it, and select "Properties".  The Shortcut tab is already selected for me when I get in, so I type in -console at the very end of the Target text box (see attatched picture).  Then I hit "Apply", then "Okay".  Then I put the CD in the drive, and start the game (I've tried loading old games, as well as starting new ones), but when I hit the Tilde (~) key, NOTHING happens.

Am I typing in the code wrong, or is there something wrong with my keyboard/computer?

Are you actually using that altered shortcut to load the game every time? Cause if your using the play game option from the auto-run screen then the console trick isn't going to work. If some thing was wrong with your keyboard you'd know it, so it can't be that. There is a chance it's quirk of your PC.

Hrmmmmm...  How do I use the altered shortcut?  As I mentioned before, I'm not the most computer-savvy person on the planet.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.  Boy to do I feel like an idiot.  I can't believe I missed that.  Sorry about that.  Thanks for all the help though.  I really appreciate it.

Oh, that reminds me. I was very curious about that "mousewheel" script that you mentioned previously. I just forgot to ask you to show me the script.
