I was actually applauding Nimrod's JOKE, not the general topic, specific question topic, or photo subject topic...  
I like puns and word jokes, I thought that was a good one.

I don't feel particularly strongly either way about the imagery in question.  In my websurfing escapades, something I might have liked the most about imagery related to the topic was video examples of women in bikinis firing machineguns - primarily for the jiggle factor.  Otherwise, I thought the idea of "women in bikinis firing machineguns" wasn't much of a turn on - and the idea of getting burned by flying hot cartridges even lessened the appeal.

In general, I have to say that I like the idea of strong women, warrior women, capable women - I like the celebration of those valuable qualities in women (that have often been trodden on by old/bad stereotypes).  So imagery following the strong woman meme likely has props (Guns? Swords? Computer Tablets?) that, when relevant and appropriate, add development to this concept and further it's presentation.  I have no problem with this angle.

Anyway, if there are folks out there that appreciate this-all from the fetishistic context - and aren't hurting anybody out there - then by all means go ahead: far be it for me to step on someone else's kink (just as I don't want you to step on mine, I like the Golden Rule).  

[ But I have to agree with the Mods - the topic of whether this imagery has any positive or negative effects - or any other fetish-oriented imagery - is a totally different subject and probably doesn't belong in this thread. ]

I would not applaud people for replying to the letter of the thread title since it is so contrary to the spirit of the title, which is a rhetorical question. The author is clearly not interested in polling people's opinions about gun-wielding babes, he started a thread devoted to depictions of gun-wielding babes - presumably busty ones, given the BEA context.  So when people respond literally to the subject as a serious question, they are actually not following the topic.  Armed and dangerous babes are a frequent phenomenon in popular culture (comics, movies) and someone might be interested in discussing this and expressing opinions they have a perfect right to hold. But such a thread would belong in the off-topic forum.

The classic objective to subjective relationship which in this case were at odds. The topic is neutral and simply has a literal or interpretive expression. Whether or not the corollary constitutes a new thread is debatable however as my pointing this out has resulting in the obvious modification of the thread title I feel my point was accepted. Thanks.

Do have to say it is interesting to see one of my posts indirectly modify the thread in which it resides.

Uh...what point was that again? Are you saying that the reason you praised Rahmota's response was to bring about a renaming of the thread?

I'm afraid I find your syntax difficult to follow (I can see the relation to the spirit associated with the classical edifice depicted below).  However, it may be relevant to point out that out of the 78 responses to this thread, only two interpret the original title* as a serious question deserving a literal response (vehemently negative in both cases), as opposed to accepting the subject as an encouragement to post relevant images.  Two inappropriate replies out of 78 is hardly overwhelming evidence that that original subject title was inept. Still, I found sufficient grounds for changing the title in order to avoid such quibbles.  You can take pride in your contribution to that.
