<< . . . underneath, [Eminem] has SERIOUS problems, and this is why I find it interesting that [he and Christina Aguilera] seem to hate each other so much.>>

They hate each other BECAUSE they're so alike, except that Mathers is playing the male "I'll bust you up muthafucka" version, while CA is playing the female "buy me a car and I'll blow you" version. They'll probably recognize that they both hate themselves equally, so they've got that much in common, at least. They'll get tattoos with each other's names, end up married to each other--for about twenty minutes, followed by an ugly divorce, and marriages to other people. And what makes it actually worse, rather than better, is that both of them have more money now than they know what to spend it on and are surrounded by toadying yes-men. Too much cash, not enough class. What Mathers needs is someone to look him in the eye and say "Kid, you got no class," instead of kissing his ass all day. Same with CA. I'd pity them both if it didn't sound so condescending.

How can ayone read so much into CA from a music video.Maybe she's just playing a role.Does anyone REALLY know the ins and outs of her love life.I doubt it.

Anyway, you have to give her credit, playing the slut has got her to number one in the UK charts and wont do her album sales any harm.
Its like Mariln Manson, most of it is just playing a role. Most people who meet him comment on what a nice guy he really is.

To me,you're reading too much into CA.

Christina cleans up well, but her usual public image is too "anorexic crack whore" for me (the nose- and lower lip-stud do absolutely nothing for me). I agree she is a better singer, and has a better voice, than Britney, but that's not much of a compliment. And I don't care for that kind of music. Too prepackaged and just plain not good. When exactly did songwriting die as an art form?

I agree, though, that someone in her position faces a lot of resentment (for her looks, for her sudden success, and the fact that many attribute her success to her looks, which is true to a large extent), and is in a position where it's hard to trust anyone, because so many people want to take advantage of her.

It's a sad reflection on our society that we demand "superstars" to the point where the media is compelled to create them where they aren't. Society then blindly allows itself to be spoonfed what the media tells it, and then demands so much of these media-created "successes" that they break down under all the pressure. And then society can't understand why they can't deal with what it views as the sweet life (money, fame, success).

That being said, however, Christina's obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, as evidenced by a quote from a USA Today article about a month ago, when she said that she and her boyfriend broke up on "kind of a tragic day," that day being September 11, 2001...

Quoth Jithero:
In reply to:

from what I have heard she is definitely a better vocalist than Britney

I'll definitely grant you that, even though I don't care for either of them musically.

But I've gotta interject my own musical opinion here, and say that, from what limited amounts of Britney I've been subjected to, she doesn't really sing.

She sort of "barks" with the drum-beats it seems.

I suppose her songwriters create her music with her strengths (ahem), and weaknesses in mind.

Most horrifying thing I ever did was see the trailer to Crossroads.

At first she's singing a Madonna song, and I thought she sounded pretty good, except then I realized that the stereo was playing and that Madonna was almost drowning her out.

Then later in the trailer she sings I Love Rock 'n Roll.  I was absolutely traumatized.  To say that she butchered it mercilessly would be an insult to butchers.

It was the worst thing I'd ever heard... and it was then that I realized she couldn't at all sing!

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

*shudder*

I was thinking about what's worse, her version of "I Love Rock and Roll" or her version of "Satisfaction".

<< I prefer **104**/house stuff for dancing.>>

Do you get nekked for money, too?    There was a thread awhile back that asked about music.  I named her music as being good with the preface that I use a lot of different music for a lot of different things.  For dancing, it's usually either bubblegummer teeny bopper stuff, dark, sexy grinding stuff (like Nine Inch Nails or one of the Rob Zombie incarnations or LOA) or just weird stuff ( I think I'm the only girl that uses PInk Floyd and/or Primus at my club).

For lifting, it pretty much depends on the activity at hand.  Usually the louder, harder and angrier the better.

My cup size is going to suffer, but I'm going to combine essentially 3 replies into one message here..

First to NotElvis re Britney; what you said pretty much sums up my assessment of her.  She sings - and even speaks - so quietly as to be nearly drowned out - its as if she doesn't really want to be there.. who can blame her

Rock!  I was right!

Christina would be ridiculously hot if she sanblasted the makeup off, fixed her hair, and got implants.  She has one of the best butts ever.

And no.  Squatting, in any form, is never sexy.  Never.  Ever.  Ever.
